Stepping away from the party again. Sorry folks. Have to go back to the libraries and Walmart again.

Wally World? Bring party supplies!

Actually, WE GO STORE is not SEE. That is the problem. People who claim to sign SEE actually sign a less that accurate version of English. So the kid does not get a proper language model at all.

Never claimed to be a SEE expert. ;) You get my point.

So, when a SEE using mother (supposedly) claims that SEE is superior to ASL for deaf children because it teaches English first and foremost, and they do not suffer the language delays or grammatical misunderstanding the ASL users do, said SEE using mother gets corrected. What she says is completelyfalse. Then said SEE using mother, after spending days insisting that she still uses SEE to communicate with her son and he is thriving, waits a few weeks and then begins to claim that she is not using SEE to communicate with her son, she is using ASL. And wonders why everyone is skeptical of anything she claims.:cool2:

Well, now you are talking about all the little things about a specific poster, who I don't really want to focus on. I was talking about a very generic mother (yes, may be similar to a certain poster). Isn't it common for a mother to do a methodology that the Deaf community doesn't agree with? But she doesn't find out till the child is what? 3-5? What then? Change tactics right then?

I guess I'm not invited to the party?? *cries*

I'll just dance by myself in the corner over there.

This thread is making me hungry:giggle:

Of course you are invited to the party!

My bad. I thought you were referring to a specific case. Guess it comes from all those damned case studies I read that have the name removed!:giggle:

Change methods at 3-5. Sure. Its never too late. Actually at that age would be great. Most kids don't get a parent that changes until the 3rd or 4th year of grammar school, after the kid has fallen so far behind that it is nearly impossible to completely remediate. But it isn't a matter of having to correct everything the child is using expressively. They will change it automatically when their receptive language improves. I've seen it happen time and again. They just naturally code switch.

:wave:Daredevel, yeah, here's a seat for you and something to drink!

welcome, Botti and PFH!
hey everybody:)

where'd the guac go? I have some too if you want-

Mines tazo. i should go back to bigelow. I dont have any favorite tea brand yet. I keep switching to every tea brands.

I am currently having a skinny vanilla latte with a shot of hazelnut.

Anyone got Kahlua or Bailey's?

I love chai

Rishi is probably my favorite brand of hot tea. But I don't usually buy it, sometimes have it on special occasions.

My husband is fond of chai.

I like it for an occasional change. He'll have to try the Bigelow. Previously, I drank Stash brand of Chai, but I like the Bigelow much better. The spice is more subtle.

Edit: He doesn't HAVE to try it. It wasn't an order, just a suggestion, lol.

I like Tazo, as well. But in my area, it is hard to find at the groceries. They don't have a very large selection.

Haven't tried that one! I'll check it out. I like Green Tea iced.

You know dern well that us Southern Folks rely on Iced Tea. :giggle:

Although I do drink hot tea in the winter time to warm up with.

Just didn't want anyone to think that I was telling tea drinkers what they had to do! That would be a no-no!:giggle:
