good post brad, I agree.

I sat watch a long docu about muslims, they all argued the koran says nothing of killing infidels etc, the words can be taken in many ways, and the terrorists completely miss the fact to "respect all cultures and beliefs". No i haven't read it to confirm, and don't anyone bother posting an extract from the terrorists propoganda, you need to read the whole lot to understand the bigger picture.
and no I'm not going to read it, i hate religions, all of them, and I pity the people who are fooled with such drivel, I'm not saying im not a spirital person, just that religion is pure and utter crap, written by the few who could write at the time and stupidly followed as if it were true. why in this day and age people think jesus walked on water or moses parted the sea is beyond my comprehension.

Brad, the question isn't how many Muslims don't want to impose sharia law. What matters is how many do want to impose sharia law. I've seen estimates that anywhere from 5% to 20% of Muslims are extremists. Supposing there are a billion Muslims in the world (a low estimate), that's anywhere from 50 million to 200 million Muslim extremists. The fact that they're in the minority is irrelevant. That's still a very large number of people who can do a lot of damage. Considering what the Muslim extremists have repeatedly shown they are willing to do to achieve their ends, it's not a threat to take lightly.

There is no comparison between extreme Christians and extreme Muslims. Most of the "whackjob" Christians are obnoxious in their words and even their actions, but not violent. Fred Phelps is a great example of a Christian who is widely despised for doing and saying horribly obnoxious things, but he isn't violent. There may be extreme Christians who are as ruthlessly violent as extreme Muslims, but they're certainly not large enough or powerful enough to pose the same threat as extreme Muslims. When they grow, then we'll begin to worry about them.

I'm not hating on Muslims. I'm taking a serious situation seriously. One does not have to deny a real situation in order to be a nice guy.

I agree that religions are the problem. That is why USA separated religions from government. That is why I think this is the best policy. I want to make sure that this policy doesn't change ever (by Muslims or far-right christians or anything like that).

Thank you, darkdog for getting my point across. Yes, few people as a group could do some serious damage. There are some far-right Christians who would want to change the USA constitution. They might seem harmless but once they get what they want (a change in the USA constitution) and they won't be harmless anymore.

After all... most of Muslim extremists' attacks occur oversea while most of Christian extremists' attacks are in USA. Funny that you don't even remember most of it....
