Is worth your friend can pick up or drop off at the airport or not?

BUT, i have a big problem, we will fly to NYC sooner. My friend Mary was living in Brooklyn, so she moved to Mettich Beach last week. I was like shock. She can't pick up us at JFK Airport, because she don't have a car. We also can't afford to stay the Hotel in Manhattan for one weeks. It is fuck expensive. I am very sad and just don't know, what i do?? *sniiiiiiiif* :(

Sunshinelady - there are MANY modes of transport from JFK to Brooklyn. There are shuttle, rail, subway, etc. However - if it's a terrible problem, fear not. I live right next to city and I'd like to offer my help to drive for you AD'ers to Brooklyn. It's about a quick 20 min drive for me. Please do not worry about gas cost or whatsoever. I do not drive much nowadays because I commute to work by mass transit. I refill once a month or longer so don't worry about gas cost.

I'm afraid I can't help out with your hotel situation. I live in a condo with my family... no guest room in here like we used to have before :|

It would be a lot more considerate to just take a taxi and not bother your friends. If you are too demanding, they are not going to stay your friends.
A taxi from Gallaudet to Dulles is going to cost a LOT. It is $45 dollars from my house, and I live 14 miles from the airport. Gallaudet is 32 miles from the airport. Taxi would be VERY expensive!

SuperShuttle might be an option...the blue van. But really I think Authentic's suggestions are the best.

Most (or maybe not most) universities have some kind of limo/shuttle service at discounted price for students. Virginia Tech has a very affordable shuttle service to Roanoke Airport which is 40 min away so I have a feeling that Gallaudet should have same. If not - well that sucks!

I was wondering any one you think if it is worth that you want your friend pick up or drop off you at the airport from gallaudet or not when you depart or arrive from the country or hometown? Most of my friends always want their friend pick up or drop them off at IAD before left the country cuz of baggage or cost for taxi? But not all, sometimes they would hard to find true friends who can pick up or drop off at airport. Some are asking for cost of gas if bring friend to airport or other are conflict is not likely to help friend. Again, is your opinion if it is worth or not?

Any GOOD friend would gladly do it. I have selected friends who I LOVE more than all. I mean, I love my friends equally, but my love for them is just slightly different so I do have another group of friends. They wouldn't ask for cash to pay for their gas. If they truly love me, they would see me off from the departing date then welcome me back at the arrival date. But sometimes, their schedule can be conflicted which is understandable.

But I do think it's worth to have a friend(s) to pick/drop off at any destination, it gives me more time to chat with them before I leave to wherever I plan to leave for a such period of the time which I won't see them for a while.
