Yeah, and you see, NYS has one of highest property taxes, and other stupid taxes, yet they fuss over Internet sales tax. RME!

I have same thought as you about leaving Alabama because of socially, morally corrupted government that isn't fit to me. Not surprised about conflict between state and Indian reservations - Alabama is very anti-gambling state and they don't want gambling in Indian reservation so they will try to do anything to stop them from establish the gambling or sell sex toys.

For you, I recommended you to look at Montana - smaller government, more libertarian attitude and no sale tax, also government won't interfere with your moral.

Montana is beautiful state! Been there and love it! I don't mind living there seriously but my wife screaming with two lettered word, nuff said. :(

The only way I could decide is going RV and figure out where I'd settle down. It can happen within few years, I don't know yet. I have half of what I needed, and that is RV trailer itself. Once I buy one, I will back up my truck and hitch up, leveled with sway bars and plugged in then drive away. I believed that my truck used to be hauler with RV camper... How do I know? There are something thats add on my truck (Aftermarket) that has to do with trailer which I am not sure what but definitely not small one. I took them out, and may put it back in... Thats likely the power inverter system.
 
What's about ebay sellers from China? internet sale tax for America only? I bought a iPhone 5 "Element case" bumper imported from China... Just $38.88 cheaper from orignal $138.95 plus tax in USA factory Element Case online sale.

Oversea shopping isn't included in bill. :)

Yes, it only applies to online shopping in US and if you want to order oversea so please use post office as shipping (USPS) to avoid custom duty fee.

In case, if law passes so you can use Green Man Gaming to order games and they will email the game keys to activate on Steam, so you pay no taxes. :cool2:

Exactly, and the original constitution of the United States prohibits tax twice, yet they found way around and average American didn't notice that. I do support taxes, but doing it right instead of doing it all wrong and that is what is going on. There is tax law that requires less paperwork, but actually there is more paperwork, another violations that our government had made. Sigh, there won't be improvement until majority of average Americans realizes this and get this fixed.

Yeah, dirty job of the government. I hope someday they will streamline the taxing system but I highly doubt it. It's making my eyes cross!
 
I wonder what the percent of Internet sales tax rate is.

I am planning to set up my UPS mailbox in Odgensburg, NY which is only an hour drive south of here for two reasons: 1) Avoid paying Customs Canada fees via shipment and 2) Some American companies refuse to ship packages to Canada.

It will based on billing address - that means you will have to pay sale tax that based on Odgensburg, NY, which is 7%.

Oh wow, I paid zero custom duty fee for all stuffs that I ordered oversea and used post office (USPS) as shipping. I think CBP is very lax with online shipping oversea, depending on situation.

If I order movies from UK and they use Royal Mail so transfer to USPS when arrive on US soil, same goes with from Japan, China and Hong Kong.

In my state, groceries are not exempt and I pay 9% on all groceries. :shock:
 
I guess that internet sale tax, medicine marijuana tax, increase tax on middle-class workers and etc. are help to solve budget crisis problem in future.

As a business owner, If I make over a million dollar annually, I certainly have to hire an accountant to collect and file sales tax forms in every state. What a major headache! I have two permits in Texas and California. This year, I had to raise prices slightly in California since the CA gov't had to raise taxes. I was mortified when I read CA tax return form. $$$$! Online business owners told me will be forced to limit sales to a few states they choose if the bill did not die. I am not in favor of the bill.
 
I think it comes down to this, the elected leaders are running this country into the ground with not only their own massive pay but also the spending they do. They are looking for every penny they can find. They think we want them to provide for us. We are not children and you (they) do not need to look after us as such. Stop pretending to be kings and the noble knights that look over the flock when in fact you are stealing us blind. Anytime someone finds a new way to try to make some kind of living (internet in this case) the government like any mafia boss wants a cut. Something is wrong when 1/3 of the country works to support the other 2/3s.
