Internet sales tax headed for Senate vote

I won't accept online sale tax that what congressmen want us willl pay it on the internet. If they will pass online sale tax bill law, it would hurt us.

I got email from Ebay and already signed it.

I hope President Obama will veto online sale tax bill from the congressmen.

Yes, my majority concern is hurt the businesses so that why I against.

Sadly, President Obama supported Marketplace Fairness Act (sale tax on online shopping) because his philosophy to have recover more revenues to fund on school, police, fire, government, road, etc. :(

Important - just talk to congress before getting too late.

Whats the reason for Federal to have to address state's own tax issues? If state is crying over this, it is like crying kids asking mama or dada compaining not fair... Parent's can't do nothing, hmmm crying kids going over grandparents and try to fix it. Should Grandparents get involved?

Same principle, if State has their own problems, it is THEIR job to fix their problem not Uncle Sam.

The states are stuck because federal has to address on interstate.

BINGO! You got it! Finally! Thats what I am saying.

Why do Interstate commerce needs to be involved? Who is gonna to pay for more work for them?

The more laws add, the more corruption it becomes, and it is taxing backwards.

That's your opinion - the proposed bill allows state to have authority to order online shopping to charge a sale tax to customers wherever they reside in, that all.

Well, I corrected some of your error because you thought that federal/IRS was big part - that's not true.

States could ignore Marketplace Fairness Act (MFA) if they aren't interested to charge a sale tax for online shopping.

Think Think "police state", why do we need more "police state" on national level?

because states are desperate to find more money to fund on service instead of massive spending cut or tax increase (especially income).

Right, it is not a big part, it is just add on the top of their responsibilities Commerce is unlikely, so if they passed the law, it will more likely assign to IRS because many businesses file their income taxes included sales tax (Only if it passed), then IRS pass that monies to state. This is going to cost even more, Im speaking of operational cost, Company time on filing taxes, PLUS IRS people's time checking for error and move that money. How much money already spent? I don't think it is anywhere less than millions dollars.

Desperate? Aren't they confidence enough to grow and become economically independent? Sad, isn't it?

Article I, Section 8:

3: To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

Not IRS - all online shopping have to give a tax revenues to state department of revenue and their counties.

Your money from tax on online shopping will goes to NY Department of Revenue and your city/county.
Department of Taxation and Finance

IRS isn't responsible about sale tax - that why I said 10,000 jurisdictions - NY Dept of Revenue, Monroe County and City of Rochester will make online shopping to charge sale tax to your order.

Okay, just think this way, you own a online business, image how many tax forms your going to have to file if it were not for IRS involved, and that would mean additional 44 state tax forms to file, you may have to hire and pay account to figure out which is which form to fill out, plus send forms to each of these 44 states along with checks... do you really want that? This is just way way way too much for online retailer to handle.

I have to give you a example.

If the congress to propose the online shopping tax (Online Shopping Tax Act) and make amend to Internal Revenue Code to order all online shopping to charge 6% sale tax so the revenues will become a block grant and distribute to all states.

It will be nationwide sale tax for online shopping and IRS is responsible to enforce - so that means DHB argument will be valid.

That's not case with Marketplace Fairness Act (just left to state and give them an authority) and they are not part of Internal Revenue Code.

Yes - not forget about counties and cities forms too.

I have to fill the IRS form, NY Dept. of Revenue form, Monroe County form, City of Rochester form, etc.

No no, that is not what I mean. What I mean is additional burden to figure out who to pay what. This only complicates on the top of already corrupted tax laws.

Yeah, pointed out that its unnecessary to put burden on Federal government over state's crybaby issues.

And yes, it is a possibility that I am leaving NY. Its not just about taxes, it is about how government trying to run their own power. You have no idea what happened between NYS and Indian tribes in NYS! There was nasty fight, and yes cops were killed. It was not the first one, not even second one, but several attempts NYS govt have made. You know, NYS has portion of thruways, and portion of I-81 owned by Indian tribes, and Indian tribes never asked NYS for property taxes, or pay for use of their land, and NYS wants collect sales taxes on their property, what does that represents? Yes, NYS refused and demand them, Indian decided to block sections of these highways, man! what a mess!

Yes, the argument is mostly about correction, nothing is new. ;)

Yes, I'm sick of our state governor is crying baby because they lose the revenues from increase of popularity on online shopping and many Alabamians backfired state governor for support those measure. Our state is very poor and their property tax is extremely low - it may time for jack up the property tax if they want more money. The family of four pay $600-$1,000 per year on property tax in Alabama, compared to $5,000-$10,000+ per year in New York.

I have same thought as you about leaving Alabama because of socially, morally corrupted government that isn't fit to me. Not surprised about conflict between state and Indian reservations - Alabama is very anti-gambling state and they don't want gambling in Indian reservation so they will try to do anything to stop them from establish the gambling or sell sex toys.

For you, I recommended you to look at Montana - smaller government, more libertarian attitude and no sale tax, also government won't interfere with your moral.
