I Hope my nation turns to Canada.

Canada is a nice place, as is the States... they're different, but each has it's good points and it's flaws.

What about your ancestors? Are your ancestors from Canada, too? Mine came from Canada and that is why I moved here and live here for a long time (fifteen years).

I understand ancestors came from France about 200 years ago. Been here for a while.

One branch of my ancestors came from Nova Scotia, so I would like to visit that area some day.

agreed. It depends on your views. I personally live (and LOVE living) in Canada and have a few relatives who live in the states. While I don't mind visiting, I'm not sure that I could live there. I just don't think the political system is for me. I'm not, however, going to bash a place I have never lived.
Often, unfortunately, people cannot just pick up and move; its just not that simple. *shurgs* o well.
For the record... CPP is not necessarily what people have for disability. In Ontario there is ODSP which is quite different than CPP, which is not the same as welfare.

Gee, wonder if I could get hubby to move to the Pacific Northwest in Canada? I know he likes Alaska, but that's too extreme. I just can't take snow and cold weather anymore.
The Pacific Northwest can be, and often is, very cold AND wet...so the cold, while the temperatures aren't as low as in other parts of the country, just gets right into your bones.
Wrong place to move if you want warmer weather.

:laugh2:

Newfoundland is bad for that.

I am on the "Wet Coast" and we have had major rain-and-wind storms the last four nights... cold and wet and windy... yuck!

I can relate to that after living in Esquimalt with no coastal protection!

I still prefer PNW's weather to Alberta's bipolar weathers.

+40 in summer, -40 in winter. Are you insane for living there?

LOL I wouldn't live in Alberta if I was paid to...ok...well, maybe if I got paid. BC is my favourite province and it is the only place I can imagine living! It is just such a beautiful place.. the mountains, the oceans, lakes, forests...I'll put up with our weather! :D

Hubby says if we move again, it will be farther South. He wants total warmth and sunshine. He would love to go to Puerto Rico or the Bahamas.
