uh-oh........
j/k. hope she's happy with it!
The next model up for HP 17" was an additional $300. She definitely didn't need that. The only game she plays is solitaire, and the only photo editing she does is cropping.the trick is, dont buy the cheapest, cuz it will crash and lacks features on the other hand dont buy the dearest because too many feratures they'd never use its a waste of money, so its somewhere in the middle...
Yes, thanks to everyone who responded.Hope those of us that commented in this thread were a help in making the final decision.
It has been fun comparing notes as it went along.

Our next step is getting a printer. It will probably be this one:
HP - Photosmart e-All-in-One Wireless Printer - CN731A
I'll see if she feels up to going to the store today (I drive).
It usually takes her about a week before she dares to try the new hardware. I've been going over every day and downloading software, transferring files, etc. Also, a little tutorial time every day.
I do have another question.
When I click on links in her emails, or click on-screen "submit" buttons, nothing happens. Apparently, links are disabled? How do I get them enabled? No options show up when I right click on them either. I've never experienced that before.
That's what I used to be concerned about, too, but for $70 it's cheaper to buy a new one than get it repaired. Also, she really has to downsize and simplify.I know it would be more "stuff" to move but what has kept me from going to an All-in-One of any make or model is that if you have trouble with say the scanner you also lose the use of the printer while it is being repaired.
I'll check that next time I go over there. It may be one of the latest security options enabled in her browser. You might want to look at browser settings. I know some in IE affect not just the browser but email client as well.
