How To Communicate in Noisy Place

I guess I normally would just "tune out" noises that I did not need to hear. I mean, if I was focusing on our conversations. I often did and still do filter out noises I do not need thanks to my brain.

I know when I've been to concerts, it would also depend where the person was when we in a loud situation - like where they are standing or where they talking from.

Noise cancelling technology works and has worked for ages.

One of the reasons people have a lot of problem hearing in noisy situations with digital aids is that they go into directional mode at the drop of a hat. That's okay if you're having a 1 on 1 conversation, but it's terrible for group settings. Causes whiplash, even, as you crane your head around desperately to find who's talking so your hearing aid faces them. At least on the Naida HA, it's possible to turn the directionality down some. I have no experience with non-Naida digitals so I don't know if that is possible on other brands, but it has made going to restaurants a better experience for me.
