How many of you are using energy saving lightbulbs

The only bulbs I use... And they are pretty hard to break :giggle:

Do want made a bet with me on this? We'll not be able to buy the old light bulbs anymore by 2014 . I am going to have a hard time using the energy saving bulb over my kitchen sink because the globe will not fit over the bulb!
I already tried it! I have energy saving bulb in the rest of my house. My condo had some people come our homes and put in new light fixtures that can only use energy saving bulbs. You did not have it done, I did as my condo fee covered it.

Let's do a little experiment...drop a regular light bulb and energy saving light bulb at the same height and see which one will break first. ;)

I stopped using them after one burst on my floor, and after I'd heard of the poison in them.

You'll have use new light bulbs as you will not be able to buy the old one light bulbs any more! I heard on the news some people are stocking up on the old light bulbs before they're all done!

I'll have to check the stores again. It used to be that fluorescent bulbs couldn't be used those ways. What about security motion detectors? Will they come on instantly? Are they sturdy enough for outdoor use?

My condo use the curly french fried lights outside. We do not have security
motion detectors, we do have lights that come at night.

I will not do with my new energy saving light bulb as my cost $15 per bulb! And I do not have the mercury all over my floor with my sick dog!

$15? Yikes....you can find some for $3-4 each even a few for $1 each (these will not even last long time, tho)

I have various motion detector lights outside my house. I also have some that are outside dusk-to-dawn senors, and my Flag light is on a timer.

Inside, I have several lights that use dimmer switches.

I have some night lights that use tiny bulbs that are on light sensors. They are too tiny for CFL's, right? Will those bulbs be still available in the future?

Gee, I do not know the answer to your question, but you just made think about the light bulbs for our refrigerators , will have buy energy saving bulbs for our refrigerators too?! I hate the fact that the government is now telling what kind of lights we have to use in our homes! What will it be next? Will we
told how much water we can use each day!

Yeah, but the light bulbs I use pop right in the light socket., and they last a long time. My dog freaked out when the bulb start dies, it made high pitch sound that I can't hear! My poor dog was freaking out once and I had no idea why until someone came over!

Would LED satisfy you? I hooked up a set of 50 watt (wow) LED lights to the motion detectors for a friend. You cant see into it, at all.

How long did your $15 bulb last until it finally died? I didn't know they make that sound that freaks out animals. Probably produced at least 40,000 Hz or so.

I think my bulb last about 2-3 years ,it depend on how long I keep it on.
The bulbs I use in my overhead lights made a sound when they're dying. I know the lights in stores produced a sound , my dog freaked out when Shaw's put in new lights ! When my dog start to back away from the kitchen
I will know it time to get news lights!

Next? It already has.

Some places have water restrictions now.

The government years ago mandated how much water can flow thru the shower and can be used in a toilet.

What do you mean, you can't see into it, at all? Do you mean they are instantly blinding?
