When I was 9, I wanted 10 sets of quintuplets. Yes, that's 50 children. God help any woman who actually has 10 sets of quints.
Now, because the question was, "how many kids do you want?" and not, "how many kids will you actually have due to spouses, partners, finances, or economies?", I'm going to answer with how many kids I truly want without thinking about anything else involved. I want around 8-10 kids, all adopted.

Where I come from, my aunts and uncles had 14 or 15 children. In old days, our belief that we should multiply so these children has their opportunity to be on this earth. However, the economy isn't the same as 20 or 50 years ago. Geesh, I sounds like a wimp to multiply 50 babies! ha.

I know what you mean. I have 2 girls and have taken them to Disneyland four times in the past 5 years and every time, I went there, I had to ask someone to come with me because I didnt want to leave one of my girls alone in a ride.

I will take them to Disneyland and Universal Studios next month and I dont have anyone to go with us :( I will probably look for rides that allow in 3somes, like the teacup ride which is my FAVE!!! No matter how old I get, I still will always love teacup rides :)

But it does get easier once they get older and more independent so you dont have to worry about it so much.

Thanks for sharing your thought! You Rock, MEG! ;)

I only want to have 2 kids but I have a son, actually I adopted him and hes hoh. I love him to death just like my own son. I'm not really sure if I plan on having another a child but not for right now maybe later in future not sure through. But I want my son to have either brother or sister so I dont want him to be spoil or brat. LOL

Sorry. It's just that, since starting school, anytime I mention being home schooled or being one of 7 kids, everyone asks 1 of 3 questions.
1. Are you Mormon?
2. Are you Catholic?
3. Do you all have the same parents?

It frustrates me, sometimes, that a person can't want to have a lot of kids (or home school) without being labeled.

that is an interesting thought. I m mormon, but I never thought myself being labeled. I love being mormon. Dont get this wrong. I m not uptight. I just love being ME. There s nothing wrong being me!

With exceptions of Mormon and Catholic families.................;)

That s true but not Only Mormon and Catholic families...
Indian Tribe do have alot of Familes which my Dad's side as my grandma have about 15 children (i can't remember). So i just lost my counting of my dad's families cuz of cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Hmong and Others they do have large family. My friend who is Loas and have 12 sisters and brothers.

Black do have large family and I noticed mostly of them have under 10 children with close ages.

Really, Skin colored or/and Religous are not matter if they want small or large family.

One of my indian friend encourge me to have many children and follow the indian tradition. I told her No way not too many children but limited up to 4 children. I told her What about you? She chose to have no children cuz want to stay lesbian and have health problems. But right now DF want to have 2 children of his own with me beside of his own son. So i add 5 children then i m So Done!

As long as, you are Mormon. You can't have birth control. ;) Obviously, you will have bunches of children to build Old Hubbard shoe in your backyard.

Congrats on your wedding next month !!

I come from a large Catholic family and my ex was one of 7 siblings. I grew up with Catholic family jokes so I feel bad if I offended Ethernal.

Ive always wanted a large family of my own but after losing my third daughter, I have to stop with my 2 girls. Hopefully I will find a man who has a few kids of his own so can have a large blended family :)

May I ask you question over mormon? I know it´s off-topic. I would like to suggest you to create a new thread about mormon because there´re alot of question, I want to ask you about because I know about mormon thru my co-worker.

I don't mind having 2 to 4 kids. That would depend on my wife. ;)

My brother wants 6 kids!

In my perfect world I will have five to eight kids and act as a foster mother for 10 more kids of varying ages.

In the reality my husband and I probably only can support four kids and live barely above the poverty line. He hasn't decided how many he wants. But ultimately, I just want to have kids born from love-- so if I love him a lot, then I must have alot of kids (25 kids!) to justify!

But with the bleak economic and government, I probably will born one (or at least a pair of twins-- I always want twins) and adopt two or three that are deaf or hoh from other countries.

:dunno: I got plently of fertile years ahead of me. Some of my peers are thinking about having their first child at age 30... WHILE I am thinking about having my first child at age 24!!! [biting her fingernails]
But it has been valided that I will be the FIRST one to have a child compared to other friends despite the fact that I am the youngest of all.

one child is enough!! cuz i have really rough through no child support long story ex bf grrr he s pig!, my parent helped me alot and very support me...now he is older enough well.. now i can handle budget well without child supports and also i cant have another kid in future cuz of plms so glad i have one child.
