How do Deaf people drive?

I do know PCEMS is equipped so that when the ambulance is running hot and approaching an intersection with a radio frequency thingy the light will change to green and force all of the other lights to change to red so that ALL POVs must stop. These same intersections also have cameras that takes pictures of vehicles that run red lights.

Far as I know only 2 of the YCEMS units is also equipped with this radio frequency device that is mounted on the front of the unit box just below the mounted lights.

I am not sure if all Emergency Vehicle Preemption have lights added to it as it could be just used only to change the stoplights for emergency vehicles. But the ones where I live does have a spotlight added to it. I see those everywhere too, but it seem like that not all of them have spotlights. Just the some of them.

Oh i see I understand. that is reason emergency police siren because you should be spotlight!? flashing

I have seen that, but I thought it was a camera. We have all kinds of red-light cameras around here, I just assumed. Guess I should remember to assume anything.

i did see flash on light flashiing because hide camera caught to drive,don't see flash camera but I think so hide on caught but protect to crash drive worst! because reason concern about to increase crash because who fault! my opinion!
 
No.Read carefully. What we are talking about here are not cameras, but a signaler to warn of emergency vehicles coming and to change the stoplights.
 
Hearing Aids

One of the reasons I stopped using HAs was when I started driving. I found they amplified the sounds inside the car and I found it very distracting and that I couldn't concentrate on what was going on outside the car.

Anyone else experience that?

That was a big problem for me when I had my HA's. Also, since my family speaks loudly to begin with, I had the same problems at home. Now, I don't wear them and they would never help me anyway.

KB, it seems we have a lot of similarities. I also don't wear HAs anymore due mainly to living in the tropics. Humidity is a killer for HAs causing increased problems of infections and chaffing, batteries etc (and also because I drive a lot and they are more irritating that a help) My family is also loud. Several visitors have commented that our house is LOUD :giggle:
 
IIRC, they never tested hearing in my driver's test (although they did test vision). I would think that since it's legal for someone to drive with loud music on or while using their cell phone, it should also be OK for a deaf person to drive.

During the behind-the-wheel test, the examiner saw my CI and was OK with repeating himself a couple of times, though he still gave me a perfect score in the end :D
 
I see hearing people looking away talking to a person behind them or next to them, looking down trying to find something, texting, eating, making calls, etc.. when driving. Is very, very scary; hearing people scare me.

Its not legal in this state, but people still do it. Cops don't enforce the laws concerning any of that either, which does not help.

My deaf friend signs while driving, one hand signing and other hand on wheel. Still focus on road. She got extra mirror to see me.
 
My father STILL thinks I, as a deaf person, should not be driving. He did everything he could to prevent me from driving. He thinks it's so dangerous.
