How do cochlear implants and effect acceptance into the Deaf culture?

What's so funny about such a sad statement ?

What's funny about it? The ones that are in most need of understanding that acceptance doesn't have anything to do with a devise and everything to do with attititude are the very ones that don't get the statement. BTW, I was referring not just to deaf individuals, but in large part to hearing who complain that they and their children are not accepted simply because of a CI.

:gpost:
I'm afraid that Audio prolly has problems with people as it's clear from her posts that she didn't understand understand how you phrase words can affect how others react to you. I would think that'd have an impact on her social life.

I don't think you were nasty to her but you did have (and so did others) to point out to her that some things are better phrased a bit differently.

As for posters who think she had problems with us because she had a different view from the majority of us, I should point out that there are two other deaf posters who are mostly oral in this forum who've never had any trouble with us because they've always respected our views even when they disagree with the majority. Nor did they try to force their views on us.

Yea, remember that thread how we all should forget HAs and get CIs?
