Honda vs Toyota ?? (which last longer ?)

As long you take good care of them..
like oil change often when 3,000 or 5,000 mileages.
flush antifreeze
check transmission
and alot stuff..
then your car will be running good..

I have 2000 honda civic.. manual transmission.. I know how feel using shifts all the times in traffic lol..
it saved gas and almost last longer to keep it alive..

lol now we are looking for van.. :/ we donated our 1990 safari gmc to car care program.. 197k, transmission trouble and radiator cracked.. still running good but its not value for fix it.. so we decided to get used new van.. but its hard decisions which vans we should get.. but we missed that van because it holds up to 8 seats, back seats have full straight seats than now days.

am looking at.. Ford and Chevy and Gmc. cuz it has 9 or more passenger seats.. we tried to find bigger minivan that holds up to 8-9.. nope :/ .. now days most mini vans have seperate back seats.. like back holds 3.. middle holds 2, front holds 2.. more likely we are looking for.. 11-15 cuz of spaces for traveling and bring kids' friends..etc..

we found one nice van.. but its YELLOW!!.. kids said.. "taxi mom" "bubblebee mom" "Giglz's school bus" haha..
:/ the price arent too bad since the gas are up the value go down .. like this one.
1997 GMC.. 15 passengers seats.. 5.7 V8,..... 31, 462 mileages, for $7,995... body-- very good condition.. look like brand new.. seats too.
it used for company using..
oh boy..

Sorry Y for off topic.. :) but my opinon for which honday or toyota are the same as long you keep in good care..

OIC... When these unions are now gone, then does this mean
that America made cars will improve ? I assume that most
unions were in Michigan (I think).

I lived in Michigan for whole of my life- 21 years... I would say better in Grand Rapids/west of Michigan for the unions.. But in East of Michigan are SUCK! Because of Detroit... :dunno:

And, Facotry for Cars in east of Michigan like Flint, Detroit and etc are out of business because of money and such like that...

In West of Michigan have good price for Cars enough, but depends on WHERE...

Since I like both Honda & Toyota,
I am trying to do some research to
figure out which one Honda or Toyota
last very long time.
Which one do you think last longest ?

Back to subject.. I am sorry hehe..
but..
maybe i give you ideas which is better..

for example. I have been looking for different vans.. but
the prices are pretty much same.. and years.. and conditions too...

so.. my test for you.. and others too.. (it will be great to see their choice and why)..

which will you pick? and why.. :)

white van

yellow van

By the way, I am not rich.. ok! :) i just go for afforable and reasonable.. :)

Y... so you do the same thing with honda and toyota.. price, years and condition.. it will help you make decisions.. but will tell you which are my choice of that two vans.. and will tell why.. :)

Sometimes it is better to learn how to drive sticks. What if you were in emergency and you found only available car to get somewhere and that "only" car happens to have stick... whadda you gonna do? Drive with stick isn't hard as you think.

Hey, Good Point here...

In fact I remembered years ago when I first bought
an used Toyota Corolla for only $900 which was
a GREAT bargain Deal !! Unfortunately I did NOT know how
to drive sticks !!! Good enough I went ahead and
bought that car with that stick then I had to
drive it a few blocks to my family house and then
called my ex boyfriend to come over teach me
how to do that stick hahah LOL He was a real
Good Teacher he showed me how to shift on
the upside and downside hill !!!

My brothers were VERY SHOCKED that I knew
how to drive with that cute stick like a Pro...
LOL hahah...

Yeah, but when Sequoias buy manual car then I will try to learn more about it to driving for in case better than nothing. Yeppers, that's correct about our driver education are just use automatic because it's more easier to pass than manual. I do understand you prefer to own car with automatic. Oh that's awesome that you will get one, what kind of car do you want? Curious... That's nice of your family will admit to helping you with paying... Yeppers I agreed with you that car insurance for full coverage is full of painful.. But you can use your parents' name under of your car to saving some of your money for Insurance or it's up to you to using your name under of your car. Just suggest ;)

Honda Civic, alot of better gas mileage.

I'm not sure about can coverage under mom's insurance because her husband was divorced in 1993 after he retired from Marines since Persian Gulf War is over because he joined Marines in 1972, few years before Vietnam War is over and he's from NYC metro (in NJ). After graduation so I would moving back to mom's house in San Diego, not 100% sure. I'm currently have car insurance, not full coverage that under my friend's name.

Sad, my friend was secede from his parent because they are against him since he's gay and he's already live on his own, he can't afford to buy car insurance with full coverage. He's just buy car with $$$$ from scholarship then it made me laugh because he don't want go to college but he's got good job, make about $20 per hours for full time. His parent is from NoCal, in around bay area but he said that he love SoCal better, don't want see his parent anymore.

I had not seen my father since 1993 but I don't want see him anymore because he's full of jerk.

Yea, When back to early century, Detroit is used to make alot of cars and other materials but not anymore except for Ford and GM, many factories were shut down and abandoned. Old factories are full of shit, rundown, alot of snows inside and hazard liquid was leave for long time.

In pre-1950's, Detroit has more population than LA does since San Fernando Valley are full of rural, farm and population is about under 200,000. When few decade later, Detroit population are declining from 1.8 million in 1950's to 900,000 or less in 2006 then San Fernando Valley (many of communities are under LA) are about 200,000 or little more in 1950 to 1.8 million (1.5 million in part of LA city limit) in 2006, it supported for City of LA to suprassed Chicago in around 80's for 2nd largest city in USA. I just noticed that Detroit suburb isn't great as in LA suburb since population in Detroit metro is growing so slower than in Atlanta metro.

See about gas prices? It's only $15 for fill-up on Honda Civic in late 80's and most of 90's. Most of old gas stations are demolished.

They are both asian cars i say stick with the American cars, Chevy, dodge, ford all of these will last many years longer then honda or toyota.

go with honda, toyota are boring bland cars.

you gotta be kidding me, not only it's racist remark to me, but american car are hardly relieble.

Unfortunately it is not true! I have seen Toyotas and Honda outlive most of american cars. Go and check on consumer reports and it proves it all. Why you think Honda has been rated number one on realiablity for long long long time?

My best friend had 1998 dodge ram, guess what? It got 3rd transmission!!! WTF???? Why 3 transmission replacement? I got GMC Sonoma and engine got fried. I had Mercury Topaz before and it requires serious TLC, meaning I had to spend 500 dollars to fix every 6 months. My brother in law had his Dodge stratus transmission replaced twice! He done gone back to Honda!

Yeppers, you are correct. They have history of factory cars in Waterford that people can see. Also, Detroit maybe will have FOUR buildings of Ford, Dodge, GMC/GM and Chevrolet to making to be history with MANY cars that they started make from past until present to showing cars, trucks, suv, van, etc whatever they want to show plus show what kind of engine... That would be so cool if they do that, I would love to looking at history of cars/trucks/you name it. Also, they do have Auto Show in Detroit near by the Bridge that is over to Canada every year to looking at new cars from another countries and USA and such like that.

Yeppers, that's suck for Detroit lose population. I'm part of them  by the way, Detroit MAYBE will get gain of Population in a day in the future, we never know. Let's see what happens.

They've both had high/superior ratings for YEARS. The downside of owning one is that insurance for them is high and they are at the top of the list for most frequently stolen vehicles. This is something else to consider.

TRUE, BUT... they have improved anti-theif devices. BTW do you wonder why they were top most stolen vehicles? It is the demand for parts, more and more people having these cars nowadays, while there is serious decline with domestic vehicles, making it unattractive for thieves.

that's because they're awsome :P

yeah, there are other cars to consider, I'm surpirsed that mazda, nissan are out of this conversation, they are decent cars as well.

hondas and totoyas are just japanese cars. but honda grows up marketing alot in the age, u know that.

My first honda had 300,000 miles on it till I traded it in for another car. Now we have 2000 honda civic with over 100,000 miles on it, no problem with it so far.

We also have a 2000 Honda Civic, too. It's a EX model with only 58,000 miles on it. :D
