I don't mean that they are "not allowed". There is no "law" against Christians doing those things. Most Baptist churches make abstinance a requirement for membership but no one is forced to join a church.
Drinking alcoholic beverages, and going to bars are bad testimonies for Christians. It makes them look like hypocrites, and destroys their witness to unsaved people.
Drinking alcoholic beverages doesn´t mean to look bad and hypocrites because they only drink one to two glass of alcoholic moderately and chat with their friends or family. It´s same as Cafe, you go to cafe to have a cup of coffee to chat with your family.
I used to work Pub "The Green Man" every weekends. I met Jehovah Witness people there. They drink only one beer and use sign language with me. I know it´s not just Jehovah Witness but other beliefs as well. I beleive that Christians goes to bar to have a drink.
Remember, Jesus drank a glass of wine.
