Heat wave in Pacific Northwest

84 degrees at 11 PM. Comfortable temperature will start when it gets below 80.

I disagree. I can't sleep with overnight lows of in mid 60's to 70's that well and won't cool off my room that well. It's going to be 70 degrees overnight low tonight.

Mine is 86 degree at 11:16 pm, I just finished went to small gas station to grab bunches of cold Sobes and put the fan with door opening right now, hope that helps...

77 degrees outside at 1:30 AM.

Take cold shower before go bed, it help keep your body feel freeze until you want a warm bed.

Ha, PowerOn...I went swimming yesterday. :)

By the way, it's 93 degrees right now and not even 11 am yet.

You would able to sleep so comfortable if it has AC in your room?

Yeah or fan running at med or high speed. I have a big metal ventilation fan in my room. I have no A/C which this house doesn't. Many homes in Seattle metro area do not have A/C, so they have to buy a portable one. Many stores sold out all the A/C units and fans, wow!

They're offering cooling centers...of course there are plenty of swimming pools and beaches to cool off as well.

It's 95 degrees as of 11:15 am with 59*F dewpoint and 28 percent humidity with a heat index of 96 degrees. It's a little muggy out here, too.

Sequoias, It's hotter down in Vancouver than it is in Seattle... I mean just yesterday, it was 105 degrees, that's what the News said and today, it's expected to be 104 degrees today. Good thing I'm going to the Columbia River today, that'll surely keep me cool for a bit.

Oh wow, I wouldn't want buy houses or rent the apartments without central AC and I can't imagine about my life goes with out AC since I had raised with AC for all of my life.

Outside of northwest US, maybe East WA, Idaho and rest of US has AC in many buildings, in south, many buildings are require to have central AC installed due building code, it had been since around 60's or 70's. If you rent old house without AC in south then your life would become very miserable due brutal heat, humidity weather during summertime and AC is necessary to remove the humid.

How are those who are unfortunate, like the homeless, eldery and those who have chronic illness handling it? Hope not a high number of deaths.

There have been some reports of fires, tons of people going swimming leaving playgrounds deserted....and Seattle shattered the all time record with a temperature of 103 degrees today....this has NEVER happened before since they collected weather records all the way back to 1891. It was pretty HOT! So, now I've witnessed the extreme heat in the Northwest in my lifetime, but I've been thru a few 100 plus degrees in California and Utah. The last time Seattle hit 100 was in July 20, 1994.

Wow, it sounds like no fun and Chicago is used to had worst heatwave in 90's, I believe so.

boy i bet yall are feeling hot hot hot hot hot. hehe feels like home to me. even w out an a/c! this heat makes me feel right at home. nice and toasty. yall want to know something funny, my mom in del rio tx says it was 89 today. she called it a cold front!! hahahaha. thats soo cool. it is a cold front for south west texas. how weird that we got the warm weather here as soon as i moved here. i guess i brought the texas weather with me guys! oops! hehe.

Stay safe y'all!

11:11 PM, it's now 78 degrees. Broke a 62 year old record high (106) in Portland, Oregon (about 20 miles to the south of me) with a temp of 107.

Vancouver sets all-time record for heat - Columbian.com
Tomorrow will be cooler and then by the weekend temps should be back to normal in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Also not to mention, the smog actually happen here. There's sign that warn us to limit our driving due to smogs on the freeways..

Yea, now you know how those who live in Phx feel! I grew up with average temps of 110 to 115 degrees every summer. :)
