Has anybody tried their HA in their implant ear?

the title says it all
 
I did after my first and second CIs were activated, but I couldn't hear anything. Testing confirmed that I'm totally deaf in both ears without my CIs.
 
Iv just tried it and I can hear out of it, and can hear my voice a bit. its weird after 10 years without being testing in the ear. this is the first time iv tried it since i got implanted
 
Wouldnt that interfere with the electrodes? Sorry for asking such an ignorant question but I wonder.

No it wouldn't since a CI bypasses the middle ear and a hearing aid does not.
 
Thanks Hear Again. I am just quite shocked that I can hear in that ear, 8 years post implant
 
I can still hear from my implanted ear with the HA, but definitely less than I did before. Can't say I miss it!
 
I havent tried it fully as I dont have a mould for the ear, what about if I tried with a skeleton earmould would that not work properly?
 
It shouldn't matter what kind of an earmold you use. I've always worn skeleton earmolds, so I don't have any experience with others except for Patriot earmolds which were very painful for me to wear.
 
but skeleton earmoulds have holes in them and wud it not like make the HA whistle

No because skeleton earmolds run alongside the inner edge of the ear. I've always worn skeleton earmolds yet I never had problems with feedback.
 
Would try my HA in my Ci ear hurt?
 
It shouldn't unless you used to experience pain before when wearing a hearing aid.
 
Tried it, all i can hear is whistling but its not quiet its like medium
 
This is impressive you preserved your hearing in the CI ear. That's very unusual 10 years ago, even today most CI wearers lose their natural hearing. It's my biggest fear.
 
Lady, how much can you hear with your residual hearing?
