Hacker Gang 'Lizard Squad' Says It Has Stopped ......

My kid said its an old news . I'm not sure why he thinks it's an old news when it happened before x mas. He said its annoying! His friend was upset about it and my son was sort of calming him through FaceTime. Aww

no we do not need another agency. FBI has several departments. all they have to do is recruit more agents and that's what they did.... Each state has its own cybercrime unit as well.

Homeland Security does not focus on terrorism. It's not an agency. It's just a cabinet department. The sole purpose of Homeland Security is to ensure a smooth, transparent communication between all agencies and to report to the President.

We have Department of Defense.... Department of State... Department of Treasury.... and now Department of Homeland Security.

DoD focuses on military/foreign side. DHS focuses on civilian/domestic side.

we have NSA to help. so yea we don't need another agency. that will just create more headache and a serious waste of resource and tax money.
Oh alright, thanks for the details.

Hacking is the samething as Piracy. When you copy a movie from a DVD or Download and copy a song its stealing and FBI does arrest you for that.

Joker..... Priacy is 20 years in federal prison. Hacking? 5, at the very least. Not even close. Better look up your laws again.

US government rather to hire hackers instead of prosecute them.

Is that a fact? All of them?

why are you always fixated with "all"? does everything has to be "all"? is it necessary to ask "all"? use your common sense. it's irrelevant and unimportant. a rule of thumb - if a person wants to specifically include "all"... then he would say so. if not, then it's not "all".

US government rather to hire all hackers instead of prosecute them.

anyway - what do you think why majority of hackers working for government are contractors instead of federal employees?

That means not all of hackers.

For example, cops are pigs, that means all cops are pigs.

I don't think the majority of hackers who are hired by the government haven't yet committed the crime. The government recruited them who attended the hacker conventions. Google it.

why should I google it when I told you that already?

you forget so soon??? it's called DEF CON. they host it once a year in Vegas.

but no. the answer is wrong. some hackers have criminal records. no way to get hired as federal employee. best they can do is get a contractor status.

another reasons - a lot of them would fail drug test LOL! and they don't like conformity. and some of them do not have American citizenship. and some of them do not have either high school degree or college degree... or both.

So the government prosecutes some hackers (cybercriminals) or not? I get confused because Foxrac said the government would rather not prosecute them.

You didn't tell me already about DEF-CON. You already told the Joker about it.

They don't. They would much rather put their hacking skills to good use instead of putting them in jail and making them hate the US Government. Working for the US Government as a hacker is far better then sitting in federal prison, broke and having a felony record.

Did you read Jiro's recent post (I already know about that via google anyway)? A lot of them who fail drug test CAN'T work for the government. So does the government let those troublemakers get away with it?

Yes, I do. And I'm pretty sure there are regulations they have to follow if they wish to keep working. If they fail to follow said regulations, good chance they might get deported.

Why would they be deported if they are American potheads?

For example, I am a hacker who commits a cybercrime and I am an American who smokes pot, what would happen to me?

If they're American, then they would be fired, and blacklisted from ever working for the US Government because of their history. No agency wants a person who has a drug history working for them. When I worked at Great Lakes, you had to be clear of drugs and alcohol, as that is an federal employment job, and being drunk/high on the job at that level has severe consequences.

No, I am talking about hackers who commit a cybercrime. Re-read my edited post, please.
