Got HDTV?

How CC looks has nothing to do with whether the TV is CRT or LCD (or LCoS or DLP or whatever else is out there). In fact, with digital TV, CC is not rendered by the TV but rather by the receiver or cable box.

Be careful with CRT TV's - NONE of them will display a true high definition picture. For example take a closer look at the specs for the TX-S3079WH model mentioned above. It cannot display a native 720P picture - and even worse it's maximum horizontal resolution is only 800 lines. In true high definition the horizontal resolution is either 1,280 lines (for 720P) or 1,920 lines (for 1080i). 800 lines doesn't even come close and in fact is barely more than standard definition (720 lines for 480i/p).

From your 4 posts here, I can tell you know something about videogame design :)

Please do come back more and feel free to educate us how videogames' shortcomings aren't because developers are lazy but because of how complex the design process has become now.

If you don't mind, could you drop a hint on who you are working for ;)

And, GameMaker, could you be kind and tell me what you think of Westinghouse's new HDTV lineup -- preferrably the LVM-47w1?

I think this monitor may be the best bang for the buck for 2007. Do you have any other suggestions? I'd like my next widescreen HDTV to be bigger than 40 inches, have minimal blur/lag for gaming, 1080p capable AND as cheap as possible. I'm willing to wait it out for another year.

Thanks!

Wait a minute, u make me laugh so hard. I suggest you to take your words back because GameMaker was reffering "cation closing" on HDTV. He never says anything about video game. Pacman was the one confused.

If you plan to watch movie or playing in HD (1080P) make sure you buy at least 42 inch or upo hdtv thats what the huge different between 1080i and 1080p. Why is that because 40 inch or less, 1080i and 1080p are same idental. I swear to god . :)

Trust me, LCD did display with poor CC and not good as CRT does.

I noticed about between CRT for SDTV and HDTV then HDTV is best one with normal CC, not poor as LCD does. We have HDTV with LCD that made from Sanyo and CC looks horrible.
Stop right there.. sanyo sucks. no wonder the cc look terrible.. try sony, samsung, or other one.. trustme this one, pal

:D I can tell from his posts that he knows a lot about developing videogames.

Let's make a wager on whether if he is a programmer or something? ;)

Sure, I will ask employee at Best Buy to setup CC on Samsung HDTV before purchase it.

I'm wait until next year.

I dont need to ask them, just grab the remote or push button on the front of the tv. dont be afraid.. :)

I don't have a HDTV, because any of them are too expensive for me; also for XBOX360 that which requiring 720p or 1080p I need least 1080p for few future generations-- for me doesn't matter if I buy a TV would has 1080p, because I prefer 1080p. :) Although, unfortunately, we
can't afford these HDTVs. Oh boy! Darn! :thumbd: Oh well!

I am thought about XBOX360 is much better
than Wii. But I like to buy a WII for--oh, I will try Wii at my cousin's house
anytime soon as next year. Wii will have a motion sensing, like you
playing with a sword on "Red Steel". I thought that would a great game for Wii.
I can't wait to try it this!

And one more thing: about lacking of closed-captioning on HDTV.
I went to store, and try it on menu, turn on closed-captioning, and it was not working. Also in my aunt's house, her cable is Comcast, and she have a HDTV in basement, I tried it, won't work on HDTV versions usually I had a switch to wrong channel but it
looks like analog or something else and it has been closed-captioning, but it OK for me. But it was not enough for me, because I want HDTV with Closed-captioning. I tried to cousin's house, his cable is Time Warner, the HDTV cable box have closed-captioning through the cable box's, NOT HDTV.
So, I am afraid to buy a HDTV, I doesn't want to rip-off for HDTV not have closed-captioning that is misled without an information, or you think HDTV would have closed-captioning on all versions, but them are not except analog. I read on alldeaf forums about HDTV Closed Captioning. I will wait and see if someone post about HDMI does... have closed-captioning
so would be probably I buy HDTV next year when I get an afford for this.
This is for me that have a big issue for deaf and hard-of-hearing who need to get a right path for getting a HDTV that/those
have closed-captioning built-in that which work appriorate for HDMI, digital and analog versions that you don't need a closed-captioning
from conventer; digital-tuners; closed-captioning decoders or etc.
I prefer closed-captioning built-in the television inside in it. :thumb:

I hope anyone who have a closed-captioning for HDMI, digital and analog versions. You could any switch to HDTV, Digital, or Analog have closed-captioning works will no matter in different ways.:fingersx:

1080p is too expensive right now.

You will be fine to get new HDTV (Under 42" LCD) that support 720p and 1080i.

FYI, you don't really need 1080p as a requirement. HD content CAN be resized to fit in 480p, 720p, 1080i and p. 720p will not be obeselete, there's no need for 1080p because 720p is good enough, at least it's better than 1080i.

HDTVs are almost affordable now. You can get a 27" CRT HDTV for less than $500.

I have 55' and flat 45' with hdtv but seem look same to me from regular Tv? lol

Darn, this is too expensive for right now. But thankfully, I really glad, I really wanted 720p
for under 42" LCD.
What I chose for fitting my new future television is between 17" to 21"
inches of TVs. I am too happy. But, I want to have a wait
for next year, why I want to have an improvement closed-captioning without
a through by cable box like Comcast. I hope any new TV will be coming
in 2007, and CC will working through any HDTVs in next year. That would
true? I hope it will true! Please for dear to God, that should be true
for this next year, please will be--having HDTV's CC & Digital captioning versions as EIA 708 would should built-in the HDTV! :)

Thanks for informing me! ;) :thumb: so now, I can't wait to buy a HDTV for
digital television and video games! It must be my life running until 2007 as it should be time flying! :hyper:
