Good news for BlackBerry users on T-Mobile / AT&T / Nextel!

It takes about 1-2 weeks to get used to a BlackBerry thumb keyboard if you are a Sidekick keyboard user.

I am a fast thumb touchtypist (72.4 words per minute, 363 button keypresses per minute, in a 60 second span). There are some thumb touch typing instructions at:

The BlackBerry Thumb Touch Typist Guide
(Type without looking!)

If you want to get a BlackBerry with a good brighter screen, a good keyboard, and the longest battery life, I recommend the Model 7290. The Cingular 7290 has a much brighter screen than the dim T-Mobile 7230. (If you can wait 1 month until T-Mobile releases the 7290, then you can get the 7290 on T-Mobile too)

There are so many BlackBerries to choose from, so it can get confusing :)

Hey, I don't want to sound harsh, but I am getting to the point to where I would say, BlackBerry SUCKS!!!! I find it extremely difficult to get support, All of the links I clicked in FAQ, or wherever, know where it landed on? 404, can not be found. WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT?

Problem here is that I just downloaded Tmobile BB handheld 4.0 for BB 7230, and I thought I won't have problem using Verichat without requirement of BES/MDS BULLSHIT! I still can't open the tunnel, So, I log in Verichat FAQ, where there mentioned about can't open the tunnel, click here. Guess where it goes? Of course, 404. There is NO phone number where I can call Verichat for support.
I have 24 hous left to decide wheather to dump BB and go for SK2. SK2 have EVERYTHING I NEEDED and IT WORKS, period. That is all I care! RIGHTO I am almost ready to fed up!

BB better than SK? Im starting to think its JOKE!

Where did you download 4.0 for the Blackberry 7230? I just got a 7230 for my wife, and I gotta admit, it sucks. Now I'm reading this and wish I got the 7290... but of course, it's more money... Maybe I can try the OS 4.0 and see if I'm experiencing same problem as you...

Tmo website finally unlocked their download site

URL for Tmo downloading site http://software.se.t-mobile.com/

I have SK2 here, and unopened and not yet activated. I am ready to forget the whole BB bullshits. I was hoping to save money, but guess too many providers does not want to be friendly at all.

Bb Vs Sk2

Hey, here is what I found though my own experience

BB, very easy to navigate the e mail system, SMS as well Better than SK2
BB has the worst Instant messaging! I couldn't believe how they design. However with third party software that enable Instant messaging though BB almost as good as SK2. But to get technical support you have to e mail them! No phone calls accepted! This is ironic! Plus I have trouble configure the BB to get Verichat work together. This force me to WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT
Relay service, I haven't figured out how to run off from BB

SK2 E mail is alrighty not as bad, SMS not as bad but nice is that its unlimited. Faster Instant messaging system on SK2.
BIG PLUS: Everything is in one package, no third party is needed. Just open it, activate em and your ready to go. No FUSS is required...
Wanna Relay service, just download from SK server and once its installed its ready to run, no configuration required too.

So you be the judgement
I got enough headache already

Problem solved

FINALLY FINALLY solved problem. I couldn't believe Tmo blamed on Verichat! It was Tmo's side thats where the problem was! In order to enable Verichat without BES/MDS you need to set APN, under TCP setting set to wap.voicestream.com as your APN then username is the one you created for e mail, and password is same as what you created for e mail. That is it! That was so simple and TMO should have had that answer upfront! sigh.

Best to go to www.blackberryforums.com

You will not find a better source of information or helpful group of people than Blackberry users themselves.

Final decision has been made

Hey, after all of hassles only to find out that there was software conflict between Verichat and Tzone and that Tmo can not do anything, and that there is bug that needs to be work on. So guess what my decision was? Its OVER! Now just activated SK2, and now I got what I wanted in no time!
This does not mean that Blackberry sucks. It really sucks for some people like me who needs and depends on IM and relay service. I know E mail on BB is far better than SK2, but after all of the pros and cons weighted... Im for SK2, sorry man!

No problem. All my in-laws have SK2.

There was a BlackBerryForums Upgrade, so there are now error 404's on some pages.

Welcome to the new BlackBerry FAQ:
www.BerryFAQ.com

This should reduce frustrations for everyone trying to get started on a BlackBerry!

I have excellent example here... you see 404 on these pages. There is no phone number for technical support on most 3rd party add on softwares... how am I suppose to get help, I have to e mail and the response was, did you read in FAQ, sure I did and its 404, and I wait another day for more feedback? forget it. I won't have any problem if they had provided telephone support. Thanks for nice try.
