Gas price expect to soar again

Yea, just think about it, when chinese find it so easy to drive a car than to ride on bicycle they will definely want to give up bicycle for car when they get enough income from work at one of these industries. Their industries is now growing at insane speed. Chinese government admit there is rising demand, and there is no way Chinese government is going to put brake on it! Interesting! Another hard fact, that china is now demanding ALL of available energy source! Meaning they are now having trouble meeting the demand for the energy needs! Its going to get out of control. Soon or later, America corporations will find it more expensive to outsource America jobs over there! I think in the end (perhaps 10 years from now) that trading would be based on quality of workers for specific products. What I mean is there are certain products taht Chinese can manufacture better than America, while there are other stuff that America can do better than Chinese can do. Thus in the end there will be balance on trading.

I hope these AFL-CIO wakes up and face the reality and START to help America Corporation get back on the feet rather than demand money from them and see them going into bankruptcy. Perfect example, Northwest Airliner! That company is getting the last laugh!

Yea, I think the Chinese equation was something that very few saw coming. Given the size (population wise) of China, they are well on their way to be number one at some point in the next decade or two. It is not so much the cars (and trucks) but just to power all those industries and such.

We live in interesting times...{Chinese proverb} :thumb:

Er...since when has the unions faced reality...at least in the last couple of decades?

The real problem nobody wants to face is that one can't have your cake and eat it too. Either you have high wages and costly products or low wages and cheap products. High wages and cheap products (such as Walmartization brought about) just doesn't work like everybody though it would. So, we have tremendous trade imbalances. I like your idea about outsourcing...umm a very interesting thought.

Here, it's currently $3.30... give or take a few cents.

I agree with one of the comments made on that site. The increasing prices have really hurt our daily activities. Before, I could go out with my friends and do whatever I wanted. Now, my friends rarely go out cuz it's too expensive. The financial aid they get doesn't help much towards paying for gas and other things. So, they're stuck with driving to school only. More and more students are trying to live closer to campus. With less people driving to places, businesses lose more customers. Many of them have increased their prices to cover the transport charges for their products.

I remember coming to Rochester, NY in 1999. The movie tickets were $6.50 each. The prices would go up gradually... 25 cents per year. 2000 was $6.75 each. 2001 was $7 each. 2002 was $7.25 each. 2003 was $7.50 each. However, by 2004... the prices jumped drastically. This time, the prices went up quarterly from $7.50 to $7.75 to $8 to $8.25 to $8.50 each. Now, I think the prices are $8.75 each. I wouldn't be surprised if the price went up again sometimes soon since it costs money to have reels transported from one place to another. Also, with more people saving money as much as they can... they probably will skip the beverages and snacks at the theaters. Theaters profit not from ticket sales, but from snacks and beverages as well. With the skipping that customers do, then it will drastically hurt their business.

What did we do to deserve this torture!?

The reel no longer exists in modern theatre! They all are digitally! Meaning they need internet to download and shoot that movie on screen! That is HOW Kodak lost a alot revenue.

At this time, these movie producers are trying to figure what went wrong with declining revenues. It is THEIR damn fault for overcharging theatre for the admission. 90% to 95% of the admission fee goes to them, leaving 5 to 10% for the theatre owner! That is the main reason why popcorn and coke is way overpriced.

I wouldn't be surprise when there is serious inflation is in the horizion!
The ones that are just lucky is those who gets SSI and SSDI, as they will shoot up this December! I would not be surprise at least 5% increase, meanwhile people who work, won't see their paycheck increase. PFFFT!!!

Um... no. The majority of film theatres are still using film projectors, not digital projectors. But there are already a few hundred digital projectors being used across the country. It's the goal of Hollywood to convert the majority of the film-based theatres into digital-based theatres within a few years. Especially when they have a lot of digital-formatted films in early developmental stages. There has been a few digital films out in limited releases such as The Polar Express. James Cameron has a digital film being planned, Battle Angel.

Star Wars - Episode 2/3 were also filmed digitally and projected digitally at several locations across the USA and Canada. But still, the majority of theatres are still using film-based projectors, not digital projectors. But that'll all change in a few years. :)

Anyway, movie tickets and snacks at the theatres are grossly overpriced. But it's not the only reason why it's on the decline... it's because there's a lot of TERRIBLE movies being released. This year has been one of the worst so far.

Don't get me wrong, I live in Kodak Territory! My house is only 1/4 mile from Kodak property line! How do I know, Kodak losses to movie industry has been around in the news! Already lost 90% of sales to Hollywood. So, you may not realize that the change is already made in early 90's. As of right now, kodak barely makes any film! Not much demand at this time. I have witness the huge building that used to manufacture film for movie makers, they were taken down completely!

I used to work for minimum wage, $1.65/hr., from 1969 to 1970, about 60 hrs. per week, evenings and weekends, no overtime pay, no benefits. Ahhh, the good old days. :)
