An Open Letter to President-Elect Obama on Behalf of All Ohio Parents

Dear President-Elect Obama,

A 14-year-old girl walked into a Planned Parenthood clinic in Cincinnati, accompanied by her soccer coach, John Haller. He was 21 years old and had initiated sexual activity with the girl when she was 13. Now that she was pregnant, Haller wanted her to have an abortion.

Rather than calling the parents as required under Ohio law, Planned Parenthood called the soccer coach’s cell phone and failed to verify he was the parent.

Planned Parenthood turned a blind eye . . . and performed the abortion. Afterward, they provided the girl with a bag of condoms and a Depo-Provera shot.

Thirty-six states across the country require some form of parental notification or consent prior to an abortion involving a minor child. And these laws are supported by 80% of the American people. In addition to the obvious reason that parents need to be involved when their child undergoes a medical procedure, these laws also protect young girls from sexual abuse. Research shows high percentages of teen pregnancies are fathered by adult men and a relationship between early teen sex and coercion.

President-Elect Obama, why do you oppose these parental involvement laws that protect our children from sexual abuse?

Despite Planned Parenthood’s actions, the parents of the Cincinnati teenager found out about her abortion and the sexual abuse perpetrated by her soccer coach. Eventually John Haller was convicted of seven counts of sexual battery and served three years in prison.

President-Elect Obama, the mainstream media refuses to ask you these questions, so we will:
Why have you promised Planned Parenthood that the first piece of legislation you will sign is the Freedom of Choice Act, a piece of abortion legislation which would eliminate ALL of the common-sense parental involvement laws across the country?

Sincerely,

Fight FOCA » Sign the Fight FOCA Petition

Oh brother. Here we go again...

What's your problem? I thought you said you were against abortion? Or have I got it wrong.

Anyway this isn't just about abortion. Under the new laws doctors won't be allowed to refuse to abort any more. Also parents are not being told if nonce has sex with their child and then gets them to abort on the sly. The new ruling is ever so extreme.

Excuse me? I don't have a problem, thank you very much.

I've never shared my views on abortion here on AD, so I don't know where you got the idea that I was opposed to it.

The way I see it, it won't make any difference if there are laws to prevent abortion. If a woman wants to abort her baby, she will find the means to do it.

I think you need to be banned from discussing about abortion. I think 99% of your posts are relating to abortion and animal rights. give it up! ugh

I'm very sorry you feel that way. I'm only speaking out for those that cannot speak for themselves.

please speak for them in your country. The people have spoken and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of abortion. and you're speaking out for them? how do you know what they want? what if they don't want to be saved?

:werd:

I was born prematurely (I weighed 2 pounds at birth) and almost died 3 times. Doctors said my chances for survival were quite poor. They also said I had an above average chance of developing brain damage and profound mental disabilities. I thank G*d that didn't happen, but if it did, I would have wanted to be aborted. I don't know about you, but I can't imagine living my life that way.

Dreama, quit being whine, none of your business about abortion and animal rights.

Get a life.

Yup, she need care about UK, not our country.

aWW MAN! I am stand dreama's feet. You guys trying to knock dreama down. You insult dreama's intelliegant, that is very embrassment and shame all of you. You guys think USA is better than Europe. Huh?

Dreama, Dont let people put your thread down. I believing in what you believed what you speaking out for those that cannot speak or ignorant for themselves. ;)

I'm with XBGMER on this.

I think it's unfair to insult Dreama like that because she is a foreigner like me.

I see nothing wrong if Dreama create a thread to share here with us because she is a human being, not see her as a foreigner. If you don't like her thread then don't post here... This is a simple.

Sure, if I want to disagree with her then I can post and explain why INSTEAD of insult/bash her.

Dreama, I know Obama's abortion policy but that one, you posted is a misleading.

I think what is going on here is that dreama is too passionate about abortion and animals that she never stops and takes a step back to look at things the whole picture. Dreama, I think you're reading too many stories like the ones above and getting upset, but in reality, they most likely are not very common. Besides it isn't as if we don't have laws set in place for those people. Even if we ban abortion, I guarantee you abortion will still happen. There will always be people who break laws and the guy is currently suffering the consequences.

One question: Do you believe that if we ban abortion, all abortions will stop?
