yeah, to some degree.. but I don't think FCC should make them to be more neutral.. just the MSM that are available to the public (that doesn't require cable or satellite to get their channel)

not really... you can get free speech, but you have to pay for it. just like you pay for newspaper and things like that.

Howard Stern is a example. He had to move on to paid satellite XM radio just to have his free speech. But they are not allow to shut him down.

Irresponsible journalism is when CNN reported that shots were fired near a D.C. bridge on the day of the 9/11 anniversary causing panic. Press Secretary Gibbs scolded CNN for false reporting. Funny he didn't go after Foxnews, too. They reported the same thing, too.

Yes, really. It would constitute consorship. He had to move because he violated obscenity laws.

Many news agencies reported the same thing. That was not irresponsible journalism. That was failure to notify of a trainling exercise.

And that is a fallicious comparison when talking about Fox News telling outright lies about their competitors and engaging in participation in partisan protest.

ok whatever you think. I think FCC should change some things anyway and give people little more freedom.

yeah, but they didn't shut him down. They move him.

Beside, all news lie. Since when they ever been honest? they will twist what they can to grab attention. They did a report on someone (a local news) I know, and BOY the lies they told because people are watching closely to the story ! They are trying to compete with the other stations who are reporting it as well.

It isn't what I think. It is fact. Howard Stern violated obscenity laws.

Yelling "Fire!" in a movie theater is illegal. Rush calling for segregated busing in this day and age is obscene, yet legal. What interesting times we live in.

No, they didn't move him. He chose to move to an unregulated area because he was being shut down.

And, Fox News has been caught recently telling lies. How about that?

No doubt.

They should. I have a radio show and we always have to watch out for profanity and obscenity.

yelling fire is a lie. It is not an opinion at all, UNLESS a person really thought there was a fire but was wrong.

But making an opinion is not a lie. And it really depends on one's interpretation. One think it is a lie, and the other does not.

But whatever about Howard, we still have to pay to listen to him. we can listen to him all we want on the internet if we wanted to and he allow it.

Calling Obama a socialist, a Marxist, and claiming that he wasn't born in the U.S. are all lies. What's your point?

The point about Howard is that when he violated FCC rules regarding obscenity, he had to pay the price of violation. Fox News should be made to do the same.

What is this? Trivial Pursuit, Rush Limbaugh Edition?:giggle: You'll have to go somewhere there are Rush fans to play that game.:laugh2:

Just proved that Rush wasn't in for the segregation of buses. Peaple might learn something useful about "Snerdley" relative to the topic of segregation. All this boils down to lack of information and twisting things when they're not true.

those are just opinions, not lies.

Again, kokonut, this thread isn't about segregation. It is about Fox News being caught in lies, and effectively participating, under the guise of a "news agency" in partisan protest. Try to focus.
