I think I am missing something out. I don't remember reading anything how a person would win this, if so many categories were chosen? I agree with Deaf258. If a person gets nominated, they should get one point, and if they win that particular category, then they can get 10 points. Then it should not be limited to one category.

Moderators can warn these ill-feeling members that if they give the person a negative point just for winning, then they would get banned for 12 hours or 24 hours.

Okay No problem, I understand which the best for concern about everyones.
That would be great for everyones and to try find another way for award as depend what the subject about.
I'll look forward about this later on when it finds good time.

How are we going to know if it wasn't intended for revenge?

I'm sure that someone could start doing a search on that person's history and find every post that person ever made. They can simply so their research and find a post that they don't like then give a negative rating for that post. Anyone can get away with it.

I think the ratings system is stupid anyway. We get nothing from it but problems. People give others a bad rating and others give them back bad ratings in return. It's all just a stupid revenge game.

Or they just gossiped about the ones who they know from the past and tried not to give any credits to that person they think is bad or not to be trusted. They just chose their favour friends over the others to make it a group against others. That is what I am seein' in them.
It's why I don't buy "competition" because, it can hurt others' feelings in despite of what they think it is for fun.

It has nothing to do with Gossips... I have had bad rating too for over Post that I do not see nothing wrong with. But yes I agree some people abused the Reputation thing But Gossip has nothing to do with it. U not the only one is getting bad rating Some of us are getting bad ones too..The Competition It only for Fun To have some Laughter's& Fun.. Not to go out and Hurt anyone..

As for the reputaion rating rewards, it is going out the door. We will not use the reputations at all. However, I received a message from Alex and he said:

"The winners will get a free "@alldeaf.com" e-mail address upon request."

He'll have to answer to that! But, it is not for those who sign up, it is for those who win one of the categories. It's the mods and Alex going through the categories to make the list shorter. Then it is up to the people who sign up and see if they win or not.

I think it's a fun idea. I agreed with Liza it would be better for those who want to be in the contest to sign up, so we don't have to vote for members who doesn't want to be in the contest and might will feel offended.

I picked out some categories that shouldn't be in the contest, this is just my opinion. Best & Worst Homepages, that's one thing I'm too unsure about because I haven't see any enough homepages, something we need to talk about- maybe the sign-up members should put their links in here.
Stupidest and Least Common Sense, too offensive?
I didn't know that there's Most Hated member in here?
The rest of other categories are good.
Maybe should add Best Artist?

Okay, your opinion counts and will be noted! I will re-read the posts on this thread and make the necessary changes to the category list before I give it to the Mods and Alex for final review.

Sure, that depends whenever we narrow down the categories, have all mods review it, and then get sign-up members. My guess it could be ready in a couple-several days if that's possible.

I don't plan on signing up to participate in the AllDeaf Awards because I don't feel anyone here knows me well enough to vote for me in any particular category. However, I've appreciated reading posts here on AllDeaf and I'd like the opportunity to vote for other members who I don't personally know, but their personalities are shown through their posts here.
