For you, dear HearAgain

Good morning to you all!

I was thinking how my killer migraine came back after a long time of not having it then I was thinking how I contributed to it. I always keep track of what triggers my migraines and get this.. it is high sodium and chocolates. Lack of sleep as well.

Well.. I had pickles and chocolates yesterday and the day before. I went to bed a bit late so that explains why the killer migraine just nearly toppled me over.

I have no idea about this post then I'm pass on it.

Hear Again, get well soon, man.

That was sweet of you, Mrs. Bucket.

I get killer migraines every now and then..I cant imagine having to deal with them on a constant basis.

I will join Jiro's group hug!

I do not suffer from migraines. But I do suffer from tension headaches.

I am so sorry you guys suffer from migraines.

:grouphug:

Migraines are horrible to suffer on a regular basis so that's why I take feverfew quite often. It's herbal and I would prefer taking herbal than strong narcotics.

I do take Percocet for the migraines otherwise I'd be bedridden in a very dark room & puking my guts out.

Steroids, help reduce migraines? I know it is an anti inflammatory. Interesting.

A tactile flower.

I hope you can feel this as I worked on this using Notepad. I wanted to do something for you my dear DB sister. You've been a wonderful friend for me. \|m/ :ily:

Yes and I have been using Topomax since I was 21 years old. Topomax is a godsend for my migraines. I rarely have them, if I wasn't taking Topomax for my migraines.. I would be pulling my hair out & grinding my teeth.

Cool! flowers Mrs Bucket.

I am not familiar with Migraine medications or treatments. Usually when I get a tension head ache. which I get the cramped up neck and major pain in the back of my head and sinuses.

I fill up a long tube sock with white rice, tie a knot at the end. Pop that baby in the microwave. for a about a minute. wrap that sock around the back of my neck with a warm rag over my eyes. Along with a Motrin. It is usually very effective.

The rice sock stays warm for a long time. and gives off a moist heat.

:dunno: If it will help with migraines or not. Just a thought.

I know I'm pretty new here, but I was just wondering if there was enough room in the group hug for one more? LOL. Having seen my sister with migraines (she's suffered from them for as long as I can remember), I can only imagine how terrible it must feel... and awesome flowers!

Keep hugging, this is the kind of thread that reminds me why I love All Deaf. Be well.

Be Well? lol I'm reminded by that line from The Demolition Men

BE WELL! <rub hands together without touching each other>

I can't take natural remedies for my migraines because they are too severe. The only thing that seems to work is 100mg of Topamax and 100mg of Imitrex when I have a migraine. I also take Depakote for my bipolar, but it also treats migraines as well.

When I have a migraine, I'm nauseous and dizzy, I vomit, I'm very sensitive to sounds and cannot move. I need to take an Imitrex for the pain. If I don't, all I can do is stay in bed and try to sleep it off. I am fortunate to be totally deaf and blind, so sounds and lights are not a problem for me. The only exception is if I need to be somewhere or have a migraine attack when I'm out in public. I've found that 2 meds I take for my bipolar help reduce my anxiety and agitation which in turn helps cut down on the number of migraines I have. I've been on my new dose of Topamax for several weeks and so far, I haven't had one migraine. :D

I also have allergy headaches which are equally bothersome (especially since I can't breathe and whenever I have dry coughing spells due to my asthma, it worsens the headache), but my GP just put me on several new allergy meds which she thinks should help reduce them. I've been on these meds for about 2 weeks now and have yet to have an allergy headache. :)

Ha ha, you crack me up! But actually I don't know that movie! ;)

you must watch that movie! even though it's 1993 movie, it's an extremely entertaining movie. It's surprisingly a good movie - Sylvester Stallone, Sanda Bullock, and Wesley Snipes. I think you should rent it and you will definitely enjoy it. It has few hilarious things like "Be Well", 3 clam shells, and the way they do sex in the future. LOL
