Federal Judge prevents compounding pharmacy from providing execution drug to MO

I would actually go for hanging because if done proerly, the organs can b donated.

I dont remember if hanging is legal in ohio but that seems good for that case. Thr electric chair can aslo be used but risky.

I have two comments on this one.........
I would not want me or my staff in the pharmacy I worked for to be the one to sign off on that prescription.

HOWEVER......

OH no poor killer actually feels a little discomfort before they fall asleep and die!!!! What about the girl he killed, she felt pain, was probably begging for her life. I'm getting sick of hearing all these violent people having more rights then the victim.

Here's another one.

Per the article of CBS:

In 1995, Delaware death row inmate Steven Shelton was allowed to donate a kidney to his mother while in prison, though he was not facing imminent execution. Following successful appeals, his death sentence was reversed and he was resentenced to prison time in 2011.

US state says execution to continue as drug supplier backs out

Washington (AFP) - The US state of Missouri said it will execute a death-row inmate next week, even as the supplier of its injection drug said it will not provide the substance.

The Missouri Department of Corrections "remains prepared to carry out the execution of Michael Taylor" scheduled for next Wednesday, prison authorities told AFP.

Taylor was sentenced to death over the rape and murder of an adolescent girl whom he picked up at a school bus stop in 1989.

But his lawyers said the state's barbiturate supplier would not be supplying the injection drug, after they lodged a lawsuit.

The Apothecary Shoppe "will not prepare or provide pentobarbital or any other drug for use in the execution," his lawyers said, referring to a settlement announced Monday.

"We filed this lawsuit to prevent the unlawful compounding of pentobarbital for use in the execution," said attorneys Matthew Hellman and Carrie Apfel, who brought the lawsuit on behalf of Taylor.

Missouri said in October that it had adopted use of pentobarbital for executions, facing a shortage of standard barbiturates after European manufacturers stopped selling their drugs to US states if they were to be used to put humans to death.

Like other states, Missouri turned to so-called compounding pharmacies not subject to federal drug safety regulations to procure the drugs.

"Miscompounded pentobarbital poses a grave risk of suffering and pain in violation of the Eighth Amendment, as well as federal and state law," Taylor's lawyers said.

Cheryl Pilate, an attorney on a team that attempted to stay Taylor's execution said it is still unknown "by what methods or means" state officials plan to proceed.

"We don't know if they're going to change the protocol, or if they have another source of compounding pentobarbital or if they intend to proceed with an expired drug" she said.

More and more death-row inmates in the United States are asking courts to stay their executions, saying that the new drugs states are using will cause them the sort of suffering forbidden under the US Constitution.

*sigh* i dont see why they get to keep their rights after doing horrible crimes, if it hurts so what? But its good they will proceed with the execution. Just my opinion...

After reading this....say what!...

Oh my!...silly little babies...the needle hurt??....They're gonna "suffer"?.....What about the "VICTIM"??....Did this little girl suffer?....Being raped and murdered?....Can anyone imagine...!...a little girl being raped by a grown man??????...This little girl suffered ten times more than the Needle ever would!....

Screw these scumbags!!!....And they walk and breathe our air....

This is the part of why I am against execution. I rather guilty one feel trapped in small cell room for years, and years waiting to die so that they can think how sucker they are ending up in jail with lousy food, and no freedom as opposed to death which is pretty much like flipping a switch to off position, no years worth of suffering being trapped.

No one likes to be trapped in 35 sq foot room, even worse share with somebody else in the same room.

Dont forget long term maximum security prisons for murder, even on death row the lights usually dim, the smell was rather foul smells like old piss, and so on. It isn't clean there really how can one enjoy years, years being stuck in pissant, rodent infested, etc for years?

HOWEVER......

Yet there are serial killers, rapists, sadists, etc., who don't mind the jail cell because they live those days and nights in their fantasy minds--they constantly relive and enjoy their crimes. Some of them even have sicko fans and pen pals who continue to feed their fantasies. They get interviewed by authors, news reporters, psychologists, lawyers, etc., and relish retelling their tales of torture and terror to others. A captive audience that they can shock and watch their reactions.

They aren't suffering in prison the way you think they are.

have you seen our prison facilities? it's pretty clean.

No, they got a pretty confortable life in there. Maybr in some other places in world its nit case but here in U.S. they live very confortable. Like lets say an inmate needs a special bed cuz his/her back hurts, they give it to them. And some other yhings like that.

LOL, it isn't about needle but it is about serious side effect from lethal injection causes extreme pain and suffer.

It is cheaper to execute with shooting at head - instant death before nerves can be registered.

Wrong.
life imprisonment is cheaper.

Wrong.
life imprisonment is cheaper.

I'm talking about cost of execution's method.

Shooting is cheaper than lethal injection, so let stick with cost of execution's method.

Okay.
Let's carry this further.
Wouldn't it be better to tell a condemned man that he is forgiven, and just as he cried tears of gratitude, BLAM! Shoot him in the back of the head? ;)

Well....you say "the serious side effect from the injection causes extreme pain and suffering"....Think about this.....The little girl, a Virgin...and this "grown man" raping and raping her over and over again....do you think this doesn't cause "extreme pain and suffering"?....And when the monster has had his fill...or his "thrill"...he commences to murder her....Don't you think this little girl suffered much, much longer than the injection does?.....And the horror of it all!
