My guess was that he likely had a personality disorder but I wasn't expecting you to say co-morbid personality disorders.. but then I'm not a professional pychologist like you.
.

Mmmphh! Definitely a red flag around here. Most definitely. That actually made me laugh. Now I understand. LOL.

*shrug*

i'm a fan of true crime so I often read about people with personality disorders; many are sociopathic but not always. I remeber reading Ann Rule's book Small Scarifices about a mother of 3 children by the name of Diane Downs who shot all of her children and killed one of her chilldren. She is said to have three personality disorders: histronic, antisocial and narcissistic personality disorder.

From what I can see most Republicans in the GOP do not have a personality disorder. I'm sure there are a few Democrats who have personality disorders as well. However, these would be in the minority as well.

It surprised me to read the part about Rush having a possible obbessive complusive personality disorder. I've always thought this disorder is the polar opposite of the sociopathic personality disorder.

But when I think about it, I can see why she'd think he might have this personality disorder. His view of the world is decidedly black and white; having a black and white view by its self isn't a red flag. Rigidity is a hallmark of of this personality disorder and he certainly strikes me as rigid. Another hallmark of this disorder is that actions and beliefs are either completely right or completely wrong; the OPCD is always right despite evidence to the contrary. That certainly is true of Rush. However, he would have to be tested before it can be verified. Jillio, correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, I can think of a certain AD poster who displays these traits as well. I'm sure people at AD will be able to guess who he is.

It so happens that I'm a fan of true crime so I often read about people with personality disorders so I have some familiarity with personality disorders.

You are absolutely correct, deafskeptic. Those traits can occur on a continuum from personality traits to personality style to personality disorder. Testing would confirm whether those particular behaviors fell into clinical ranges.

And, yes, I know exactly the poster you are referencing, and agree with you completely.

I think it's rude to publicly "analyze" other AD posters.

Absolutely, Reba.

Preserving the quote for future reference.

:werd:

it also breaks the following rules yet is allowed to go on...

3.) NO TROLLING. A troll is someone who provokes members into flaming discussions by posting outrageous messages, and usually ends with name callings and flame wars.
9.) No bashing, flaming or harassing other members. Period.
and can also be seen as provoking a member into a flame war
10.) No enticing or provoking other members to cause them to get into trouble.

The entire "analyzing" section served as a hijacking of the thread. Actually, this thread is loaded with hijackings. I apologize for my part in this. Whether I agree with someone's posts or not, does not excuse my hijacking. Sorry.

Mod note:
