I agree with GrayEagle, I have seen forums fold as everyone transitions over to FB. The smaller "niche" ones seem to go first. Some of the bigger sites, like "Pirate 4x4" will never go away, even though Lance sold it.
My problem with FB is the new timeline format and the constant changes they do to "improve" it. I have found it to be quite mundane anymore with it being half business related, off topic, oh boy I just ordered a coke at McDonald's type of format.
The days of grass roots information sites are gone and the sites are few and far between now. As you say, everyone drank the cool aid and went to FB.
