I thought about this recently, because Ursula (who wanted to be my girlfriend, badly...) owns a venomous snake.

I was scared shitless, I wonder if she will use it on me someday, she reminds me of Cleopatra.

What's more, she pets it EVERY DAY... without it biting.

If you own such animal, then I'd say that you are crazy or nuts.

No , I have never thought having a poisonous pet , it is a huge liability . If the pet bite a person and they dies the owner is going to get sues big time.

I had a Cocker Spaniel with a bad temper once. Probably not venomous though.

Yes - black widow spider in jar, in past and we gave it away in forest.

Hell no. I'm not an IDIOT. One, you could get seriously injured, and two, what are you doing holding living beings against their will? What if their family and mates miss them? What about their offspring? How would it feel if an alien or even a kidnapper took someone you love, and because the person was too much trouble to feed and watch over, s/he was killed and disposed of? Do you know what it feels like to not know the fate of the person you love?

Lukin, ur wanna-be g/f should be in the Everglades....those poor Pythons realllllly do need somebody to Hug.....somebody to Luffffffff

haha, when i was in key west few months ago, my dad wanted to join me for hunting pythons. I heard there was a contest for winning $2,000-$3,000 prize in capturing the largest (or longest??) Burmese python.

I told him, sorry, I won't stay in the states that long.

I do love snakes myself, but poisonous ones??? What sick, twisted mind would own that???

In bold - I heard about that too.

I was owned by an ex wife. Her being a terp posioned the life out of me. Was a lot more than the kiss of the spider woman.

[FONT=&quot]People that own dangerous animals think they're special and have a unique bond. This often proves to be their undoing as they have make poor decisions regarding how to confine the animal safely and they let their guard down believing that they've tamed the animal. Sometimes, other people get killed because of their carelessness. It should be illegal but there's always loop holes in the law and it's hard to enforce. You really only need to watch an episode of "Fatal Attraction" on Animal Planet to see how quickly things can go from bad to worse....I'd never get involved with someone that's attracted to domesticating wild, and potentially dangerous, animals. They're not objective about the dangers it presents to both animals and humans and they put everyone in harm's way.

Like the guy who thought he had a special raport with grizzly bears. He made a bunch of documentries about how special he was until the bears ate him. That was so funny

Reading this thread, I think of my ex. I married a member of a poisonous subspecies. :laugh2:

Mostly forgiven now, but at time of divorce and for five years after---

Timothy Treadwell...who did more harm than good. I don't wish that on anyone but his death was clearly unavoidable...just a shame he took another life and two bears in the process.

Yeah, I am sad for his girlfriend. Such a waste.

I think it's crazy to own a poisonous species. nobody should own an exotic pet either.

it's even much more dangerous than having a bunch of loaded guns in my house. :Ohno:
