Duggars Family... When Will It End?

:giggle: it could be that they are hot but they don't beleive in birth control, etc. It look like that they only have sex if they want to create a baby... *shrug*

According to this: 18 Kids and Counting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia they did practiced birth control in the beginning. I didn't know that. After a miscarriage, they decided that birth control could have caused that miscarriage. That is why they have so many kids.

I was googling to find out how old Michelle is so I can guess at how many kids the Duggars would have at the end.

Found her age and it is 42 when she has her 18th kid. I figure she would have 6 or 7 more kids (single - no twins) and the total would be 24 to 25 kids when she is done with having kids. That is it if she doesn't have any medical reason to not have any more kids. That is my guess.

Another Duggar Girl On the Way!
Another Duggar Girl On the Way! - Babies : People.com

Joshua and Anna Duggar, who married in September 2008, are already getting ready for a baby. And, the couple, who are due in October, found out on national TV just what they are getting ready for.

"I have had a feeling this whole time it's going to be a girl," Joshua Duggar told Meredith Vieira on the Today Show Monday morning. "So that now I'm for sure it's a boy."

The newlywed should've stuck with his gut, because lo and behold, when he cut into the cake provided by the show the insides were bright pink, indicating a Duggar girl is on the way!

"I think you can prepare only in so many ways, but really just realizing that you can be a role model for that child and be as prepared as you can be," Joshua said. As for competing with the size of their parents' 20-strong brood, he said. "We'd be happy with two or three. I think that children are a blessing though and when you raise them right they're a great blessing."

Duggar patriarch Jim Bob piped in via satellite with the family, saying, "We're really excited about being grandparents." Wife Michelle added, "They are going to make great parents."

TLC's show about the Duggars, 18 Kids and Counting, airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m.

Sara, this is not a direct Jim Bob Duggar descendant, this is a grand child of one of Jim Bob's oldest sons, Joshua. This is just a case of parents becoming grandparents with toddlers still in the house.

For Joshua's little girl- she's going to have nieces and nephews older than she is and that's going to be a weird adjustment.

1) I wonder what the Duggar family reunion is going to look like in about 25 years...they're going to need to rent large festival grounds and the people that work there AND professional services to serve so many people if they have a reunion, it'll probably be bigger than a city public school. They'll probably need a real college yearbook to fit all the small photos of every single member of that family into one book to give to everybody at the reunion! I imagine what the bill for that will be. Yikes!

I think the Duggar family will have enough members that they'll be able to start a private school of their own for only Duggar students complete with football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and swim teams! Maybe they will start their own small town, too! :laugh2:

I just looked through my family tree just now out of curiosity as to my family size. My grandmother on my mother's side of the family had 7 children, resulting in a total of (I counted!) at least 88 family members just on that side of the family alone, including me and my siblings. I believe there are even more that have not been counted yet. And that is NOT including my grandmother's late husband's (he passed away in April of 2007 from a heart attack) 6 children and the resulting family members from those 6 children as I don't know the family tree for his family. I am NOT kidding. And there are more to come. The youngest of my mom's family is just a baby right now. My dad's family has only about a total of maybe 20 people, including our paternal grandparents, and that's excluding my dad's wife's family. We have not set up a family tree line of my dad's family. I have about 200+ pictures of everybody in my mother's side of the family family from the early 1900s to now. They've taken up about 6 or 7 large photo albums and 4 or 5 small photo albums and there are more to fill, I've two more empty ones to fill. I have too many family members that it's too expensive to buy brand new photo albums from even Walmart, so I buy them at the thrift store for less than 25 cents each. I may fill up two bookshelves when I'm done. No kidding. And I know there are many more...but we still will be dwarfed by the size of Duggar family even in 25 years. Compared to them, we are only a football team while they are...MySpace or Facebook. Know what I mean? The Duggars probably will have enough members to start up their own networking website like MySpace or Facebook in about 50 years.

2) Please, for love of all that is cute and furry, no more "J" names...one full generation of "J" is enough already...move on to the next letter on the alphabet or pick a different letter before we run out of "J" names, please! Geez! At least they're not the Octoplets and they're self-reliant and not on any type of public assistance! I have a large family but we take up every single letter of the alphabet instead of sticking to one letter of the alphabet for the entire damn family!

Josh and Anna agreed not give their baby's name with "J". They wanted to decide other letter instead "J".

Yep right..they are expecting a girl....not sure what her name will be. I believe they'll go start with "M". But wait and see what the baby's name will be.

Yay! It's about time they broke the annoying 'J' tradition.

Yeah That what I read on the newspaper. Finally, They made decide want different letter instead "J" traditional.

Vamp, Do you think Michelle is obsessive with "J"?? How about the middle name "letter" on each individual of children??

I have wondered often if they are ever gonna run out the names of "J" if they have more kids.
Actually, they did run out of names. Some names were modified a bit to make them unique.

Instead of John, they used John-David.

Jessa and Jinger are unusual.

It could be that they picked 'J' for religious reasons or because the father's name begins with 'J'... Jim.

I know some families follow the first letter of the father for their kids.

Some people do it because they can pass down heritages or hand-downs that has abbreviations on it.

I don't think it is really an obsessive thing. It's more of a system they set up. Everyone have a reason why they name their children, and I would never consider it obsession. Some people decided to name all their children after family members -- I could say, oh they are obsessed with naming their children after family members-- some named their kids after they like the definition of the name (or the sound of it) -- I could say, they are obsessed with name books or obsessed that their name must sound PERFECT.

Anyway, Jesus does start with the letter "J" so that could be the reason. no difference than how some people name their child after their favorite rock star.

Joshua and Anna Duggar Reveal Baby's Name
Joshua and Anna Duggar Reveal Baby's Name - Babies, Anna Duggar, Joshua Duggar : People.com

Joshua and Anna Duggar say they're ready to premiere the name of the newest Duggar, expected to arrive Oct. 20, 2009: Mackynzie Renée.

"We are really excited about all of it," Josh tells PEOPLE about prepping for the birth of the newest Duggar. "We're going to have a little person that is ours to raise up. That is a real blessing."

Josh is the eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 18 children, whose names all begin with the letter J. The family lives in Tontitown, Ark., and is featured on TLC's 18 Kids and Counting.

So, with the announcement of the new baby's name, does this mean all of Josh and Anna's kids' names will start with M?

"We won't decide that now," Josh says. "We'll take one at a time."

Meanwhile, Anna is getting the baby's brown and lime green room prepared – "maybe we'll add a little pink," she says, now they've found out the baby's gender – and reading parenting books.

"My favorite part of pregnancy is feeling the baby move and kick," she says. "And, it is so neat watching Josh enjoy the pregnancy and bond with Mackynzie. It has brought our relationship closer together."

The family is set to be featured on Fox News Channel's Huckabee show, talking with the former governor about Mackynzie and how the Duggar's reality show and family experience is different than the Jon & Kate Plus 8 situation.

"I am really enjoying the reality show," says Anna, who is the newest member of the cast. "It has been neat because they are doing such a great job of documenting our lives right now. We focus on pleasing the Lord, and trying to be who we really are. That's what's important."

They are obviously going to create many generations in their family.

Their choice.

If I was to bash them, I would be bashing my distant relatives' choice to do the same. Not to mention I would be insulting some of my friends' families.

Make you wonder how much asset Jim Duggar has though in order to maintain that family of his. Their bills must be really high.

He works in the State government, plus TLC pays the Duggars x-amount of dollars per episode for the show. I am sure once the kids reach age 14 they start receiving their own paychecks for the show and the mom may be making the kids put their money back for college or restrict their spending, but once they are 18 they are free to move out if they wish.

As it stands this Mackynzie Duggar will have aunts and uncles just mere months older than she is. She will think of them more as cousins rather than aunts or uncles. If Jim Bob Duggar has another child (entirely possible) then that means Mackynzie will have aunts and uncles YOUNGER than she is.

I can believe that. My mom has a niece that is 4 years older than she is. She was the last of 7 in the family.

I feel sorry for the girls. The older girls have to rear the younger children. Mr. Duggar has stated that his girls will not go to college or get higher education. That means that the girls will have very limited options. Even if the girls want to have a family, isn't an educated mother better than one who is not? Besides, the girls should get to live a little before they settle down. It's really culture shock for me to see how those girls live. I'm grateful for my own education and birth control.

That's sexist if he wont allow them to go to college.
