That's why I live in FL.
well, i'll be moving to arizona next year, so i won't have the problem of being cold in dresses anymore.

well, you can't believe everything you hear, now can you? perhaps the people who told you that were just trying to inflate your poor self-esteem?
lucia or others,
i'm curious. what do some of the duggar's clothes look like?
The girls/women wear long dresses or skirts and blouses. The boys/men wear pants and button down shirts. No short dresses/skirts or shorts. They are all very plain and boring. No individuality.

i'd like to learn more about the duggars. does anyone know of a website where i can read more about them?
am i glad my mother never made me wear dresses all of the time! i'm not into dresses anyways except when i'm going to my field placement and/or work.
You know what I think? If the Duggars wanted so many children, why didn't they adopt? There are SO many children in foster care that need loving homes and caring parents, and there aren't enough adoptive families to go around. I don't think it's fair that they get to give birth to so many children and not adopt any children while many gays and lesbians want and are willing to adopt children but aren't allowed to due to their sexuality. So many children could have gone to those gay/lesbian loving parents if it were permitted. Those children in foster care need a home and loving permanent parents more than the Duggars needing to give birth to so many kids. They didn't adopt ANY kid, and it makes me feel like they don't want the "damaged" kids. They want their own perfect kids. When I was in foster care, I wanted so badly to be adopted and not have to live in hellholes that some of my foster homes were. Only two were good foster homes. I wanted to be loved, be taken care of, and not be abused and neglected (I was abused and neglected by my dad and his wife), and not to bounce around many strange foster homes and a horrible children's home. It's not fair. What about us?
I didn't have to wear dresses all the time but my mother had a hard time getting me to wear them at all and that went for skirts as well.
I wonder if any one of the kids will realize how sheltered they were and rebel against their parents?
my guess is somewhere between the 5th and 14th kid there will be a major fuck up :P

so did mine. my mother always wanted me to wear dresses or skirts, but i preferred to wear a pantsuit or dress pants and a blouse with a blazer. that's still the case -- even today.
Unless they had been seriously brainwashed and have no individual personalities?
Hi Liebling,
I'm not sure I would say the clothes are cult-like, but I know what you mean. I would say the clothing was conservative. Very conservative. Ugh. It reminds me of a fundamentalist Christian's way of thinking (which these people are), so I can see where you'd consider them to be cult-like.
It reminds me of the church I grew up in and I don't need the nightmares, thank you!
