Just something that occurred to me while I was thinking the other day.
I'm interested in both HoH and deaf feedback alike.

In your dreams, have you ever noticed if you could hear without any hearing difficulties?

Or do you also sign in your dream?

If you are deaf/blind/mute, do your dreams ever display yourself free of those shackles that bind you in reality?

somwhat yeah that id dream about hearing as so im a hearing person, put other way, involved in life as much like a hearing person. More like communicating by thoughts and the event unfolds itself as logics of events dreamt. weird i cant explain it.
when i day dream, i tend to 'hear more' maybe to do with the daytime fact that i use hearing aids :dunno: its just the early mornings before i wake up i get dreams sometimes very weird ones, most of them are lost from memory by the time it is 10 am, althought i have had recurring dreams lasting a month but it never was a concern.
no i dont sign in dreams, i did when i went to deaf units (we signed there everyday) with i was little until i was 8.

I am not deaf, but legally blind, I dont really know if i see more in my dreams because i dont know what it is like to have that sight.

since i was born totally blind, i don't see in my dreams. my dreams are tactile in nature and consist of smells and tactile sensations. when i move from place to place in my dreams, i am either using my guide dog tigger, a cane or am floating in air.

before i lost my hearing, i used to be able to hear in my dreams and communicated orally in them. after i lost my hearing, i started communicating with others in my dreams using tactile sign.

now that i have ci's, i'm able to hear once again in my dreams.

Silent, but I can "feel" what people are thinking. The only exceptions are when people say something extremely strongly, which just happens completely randomly although I can always feel it sneaking up on me.

For example, two nights ago I woke up at 3:40 AM when a woman screamed at me

"HOW ABOUT A FUCKING PINEAPPLE?!?"

no idea where that came from :/

In some of my dreams I'm hearing, in some of them I'm signing although I only sign with friends and at college, im mainly oral, in some i'm deaf and just talking.

In my dreams it seems most of the time communication is via ESP, where I just know what people are saying without "hearing" them. It's weird.

In almost all of my dreams, I usually am signing and as for hearing, I've never really heard anything that is in my dream.

I've been told that sometime I sign in my sleep too.

Although, Once in a while - there will be a dream that binds me out of reality because in several dreams that I've had would be so empowerful that it makes me wonder.

That's funny about " HOW ABOUT A FUCKING PINEAPPLE?!?"

in dream I always speak and listen like a hearing person and I never signed until I met my fiance jason I finally had 2 dream that I used sign (its not only 2 that have jason in just 2 dreams out of million, the other I spoke and listen to jason lol)
Its funny I notice that I can talk perfectly and think of words in perfect pronouncation but for some reason my mouth doesn't cooperate or work right lol
Kind of off topic but in 90% of my dreams its wild, creative and weird, out of norm lol and somehow I can put my concious self (my real self/mind not character in dream that I can't control unless I intervene like in dream I'm having out of body experience until I put real self into dream self) into the dream to take over and investigate if I'm dreaming or this is real events like for example I can't tell if I'm really in the park with dog so I put my concious self in to interrupt the natural progress of dream story and look around to find something unusual and I'll find rabbit with wings then I'll wake myself up to be back into reality and go back to sleep to get different dream lol

I am hearing.

I have had silent dreams where all communication was in ASL.

I dream everynight but I do not remember I ever hear in any of them.

I have had many dreams in which I am hearing. It's interesting because I was born deaf, so I don't have any true idea of what it is like to be hearing. And I'll admit I wake up from those dreams a bit wistful, wishing I truly was hearing. I don't hate being deaf whatsoever as I'm so used to it - this is my life - but I'm curious to know what it'd be like to be hearing.

Since I grew up orally without ASL, I am usually using spoken English in my dreams but I am not sure if I am still deaf or hearing in my dreams. Never really thought about it until now.

It is very odd, but I can recall countless dreams - I used to make a personal log of all my dreams: I talk very frequently in them, oral communication seems to be the only form, maybe sometimes ESP but I grew up in the hearing world and still am the bridge between both the deaf and hearing - as I cannot get by without HA's.

I have never learned ASl/sign, so these have never recurred in my dreams.

It's just strange, I find it that during my dreams that I do not have this drawback at all. When communicating via talk, whisper, shout, cellphone in the dreams, I always get it at the first time and never have to ask them to repeat themselves.

I am especially intrigued by the dreams of Hear Again/typeingtornado19/Nika, as these dreams sound exquisite.

"HOW ABOUT A FUCKING PINEAPPLE?!?"

Sounds like a shout in anger or disgust, in analyzing a pineapple other than our infamous well known fruit, maybe it meant pineapple as in grenade?

I do both in my dreams! I also grew up oral and learned ASL in my teen years. So depends on how and what I'm dreaming of.

I also dream that I can breath and talk underwater! How cool is that??

i remember one dream i had years ago where i flew in the air (by myself as if i had wings) above the old neighborhood i grew up in and could hear all of the conversations that were taking place inside each home. i have no idea how or why that dream came about, but it was interesting to say the least.

In my dream I've seen more deafies signing at any party as I always hear everywhere some of hearies who were talking to me. I sign very rare maybe like once a year if it's especially, I get angry frustrated at one deaf person that will get me emotional trying to sign very clear but couldn't amslan for 'em to understand me. It's nuthin news ever since I haven't changed yet to be like a deaf person becuz my language always gets bored only for deaf ppl who raised from residential schools.

I don't understand the part about "only for deaf people raised from residential schools." Not all of us who are fluent in ASL came from deaf/residential schoools. I didn't. I was mainstreamed, yet I'm fluent in sign language, and I am a deaf person. Very much so.
