Ok, that's understandable. It's your choice. I still hang out with my friends who are good or bad tippers. I know bad tippers are selfish but I don't criticize them like you do. As a matter of fact, my wife is a bad tipper, oh well...

The real entitlement problem would be the wait staff who expect the 15% tips while knowingly give poor service to their customers. Customers expect good service upon entering a restaurant establishment and will tip accordingly. Waiters and waitresses know that their job entails giving good service as part of their job when they got hired in the first place. A no brainer. And with good service provided they should expect a good tip for their effort in return.

At least you don't hyperventilate when it comes to tipping. But I'd certainly be PO-ed and enraged if I caught a wait staff or cook who spit into my food. Heck, anybody would. Makes ya wonder what goes behind the walls in the kitchen.

That's not only disgusting, it's illegal. She could be arrested, and the restaurant could be shut down (at least in SC). Owners/managers will not put up with that.

I found a stray hair in my food once, and the manager cancelled our bill.

I have very short salt-and-pepper hair, as does TCS, and it was a long blonde hair, so I know it wasn't ours.

However, at a Cracker Barrel (which we only go to if a group invites us; it's not our choice), it was a different story. TCS found the dispenser parts to the drink machine at the bottom of his drink glass. The only thing he got was a fresh drink (fresh, not free).

she assumed the iron cross patch on my vest meant I was a white supremacist. :roll: irregardless that is still no reason to spit in someones food.

the manager knew me and my family. my parents and I would meet to dine at least once a month. in fact about 5 months before the spitting incident. the manager asked me why my knuckles were all bruised and cut up. I told him about a fight that had happened between me and a skinhead. I saw this really beautiful frisco style shovelhead. stuck up a conversation with the skinhead owner. we chatted for a bit. the skinhead was acting all nice to me. a man was walking down the street in a t-shirt with a picture of a native brave on it. the passer-by was also wearing a bunch of turquoise jewelry and stuff. so the skinhead started shooting off his mouth: "hey Tonto...(insert stupid slurs)"
I told the skinhead to shut his mouth. told him I was part Cherokee and Choctaw. he did not believe me as I have light skin, brown hair and blue eyes. assured him I was and if he did not shut his mouth, I would put my foot in it. the skinhead was taller and larger then me, so he assumed he could take me. well my foot went right through his teeth. toyed with him a bit. then knocked him out. I took a pin off his jacket. which I still have -

Yeah, I know what you mean. I like watching "Kitchen Impossible" and get to see how horrible some of the kitchens were on those show. I've a mind to walk into a restaurant I'm not familiar and demand to have a look at their kitchen. Although that doesn't address how food is stored and prepared.

when in group, their opinion is of no importance to me. I do not care what they feel entitled to. they're going to have to pay their fair share equally based on established rate which is typically 20%. if they do not want to do that, they're free to get their own separate check at their own table.
