Does it bother you when someone smoke?....

I love
CHANTIX

I haven't smoked in 2 whole weeks!! I am on chantix and it really really works. I recommend it to everybody who smokes. Painless, totally painless to quite and I already saved over $100!! I can't believe it. :P

My friend and her hubby used that and they have been smoke-free for 2 months. They told me the reason they quit cuz they were spending $150 A WEEK on cigarettes!!! I was like :jaw: Wow!

i agree..my husband is one of them. Boy, it is not fun when he is trying to quit. He goes thru painful withdrawals and his personality changes. Very very difficult for those who are addicted even though I have never experienced being addicted to cigarettes.

I agree, it is very difficult to quit anything that is addictive but
the point is: People chose to smoke KNOWING full well that it
not safe and very addictive..it says so on the cigarette packs that
warns people of consequences of smoking. So i say it is people's
fault to start to begin with.
Why blame the tobacco companies? They did not force people to
smoke, thats all.

I blame both the people who started it and the tobacco companies. The tobacco companies used to bombard the public with sexy ads promoting smoking. I dont know if they do it anymore due to all the lawsuits happening.

Yes, my husband takes responsibility for starting his habit and he regrets it big time.

Yes, my hubby said the same thing. Good thing, he quitted it with strong willing after long years on and off to April 2004. No smoking since April 2004. He said that he feel really good and notice that he save a lot of money...

Yes, that´s right. My hubby accept at long time ago that it´s his responsible for ignore the warning label which it did written on cigarette package for many years. Yes, we were being taught that drugs are bad for us... It´s our choice to take it or not.

Well, you should blame Public Health Department / Government (USA - FDA (?) for legalize tabacco companies to produce the cigarettes to profit themselves and also make Government richer thru tax... Our Government don´t care about us but our money...

Yes I know.

Yep, I started smoking when I was a teenager back in the 80's off and on, I did not realized it would be very difficult to quit or become addicted to it. I tried to quit so many times, I kept beating myself up because each time I tried, I felt the urge to smoke again. It's kind of difficult to discribe what we smokers are feeling or going through when our bodies are craving for nicotine, it becomes stronger after a few days or so. I'm tired of people telling me to quit smoking, thinking it that simple but, I managed to keep myself cool and ignore them because I want to do this on my own without anyone putting me down...I'm going to try chantix and see if that will work for me. :)

I wish your husband the best!

everyone who quit cold turkey are diffcult but they are doing well as they can but not always easy smile

you says, "it doesn't matter whose fault it is". but i think more fault with tobacco company than people. yes, teenager people think that ciagrette looks sexy and cool even look mature but it's not. everywhere in the magazines, movies and TV, etc. same things with beers too. well, no one is perfect.

That's true! In fact it's not cool!

I quit cold turkey years, years ago! Glad I did it even when I was not a heavy smoker. I was more of a social smoker and had a few periods of time where I would smoke half of a pack each day. But I'm glad I quit and surprisingly enough, it was easy for me to quit right away.

Smoking is a $900 expense. quitting is better. better health, clothes are clean and your company will notice it by decreasing your health insurance premium.

I'm allergic to cigarette smoke (it gives me migraines) and if it were not for my daily allergy meds, I don't know how I could handle being around people who smoke.

Yes, The tobacco companies used to advertise and used ads but not
anymore like you said, due to lawsuits and for health reasons.
Peer pressure among kids is awful, trying to be cool and all. Its sad.
They need education in schools about the dangers of smoking and
of course, illegal drugs. I dont know if they do it or not but they
should.
My hubby is doing so well but he said he still have cravings once in
awhile.. He still has to fight it daily since he cant take Chantix anymore
due to insurance. Wow, i didnt realize the extent of nicotine addiction.

Chantix is very good and i hope you will try it but it is expensive!
So hope your insurance will cover it..our insurance did cover
my hubby's prescription, Chantix but only for 6 weeks, thats it, he
cannot have another refill of it. You might want to check and see
if your insurance will cover it.
Good luck!

I hate it when people smoke around me! :barf:

Today I was waiting for a bus home, and a lady sat next to me, and she lit up a cigarette! Ugh! So I moved about ten feet away, but I could still smell the smoke! :barf:

Smoking should be outlawed at bus shelters!

I wanted to snatch that cigarette out of her mouth, throw it on the ground and jump on it with my feet, smash it up, and scream in her face "SMOKING IS BAD FOR YOU AND IT WILL SLOWLY KILL YOU!" but of course I didn't. I know better, but still...ugh. :barf:

LoL! Same here. The people who is smoking close to me. I walked and avoid them. I put my own fragrance for my hair to prevent of smell cigarette stick.

Interesting... I notice some of Aders said positive thing about Chantix. I see why not to try Chantix. Yes I know it's very expensive but it's worth... I am surprised that we don't have Chantix here in Germany... My hubby quitted with his own strong willing... I bet he would take Chantix if he know Chantix exist in Germany.

Smoking is outright gross!

I have been told that being overweight is same as smoking! I said, your hell wrong because smoking increases much risk of getting lung cancer, and other irreversable damages while being fat may risk but at much lower rate than smoking!

I don't understand why 5 dollars a pack, and whenever outside is downright cold, yet people smoke anyway! This is insane!

Obesity is actually responsible for more health problems in the U.S. than smoking every year. Only 1/10 of 1% of smokers contract cancer.

Cigarettes are $5 a pack because the government is making tax dollars off of smokers. Smokers are the most heavily taxed population in the country.

The reason people continue to smoke is because they are nicotine dpendent. Nicotine addiction is more difficult to overcome than a heroin addiction.

That's right Angel if it were no tobacco companies people would not smoke and that is the same for alcohol companies.

The government also subsidizes tobacco farmers so they will continue to grow tobacco. It is then purchased by the tobacco companies, who make an additional profit, and the government makes a tremendous amount of tax dollars from the sale of the manufactured cigarettes. The U.S. government has a vested interest in keeping the manufacturers in business. The government would loose billions of dollars every year in tax revenue if the tobacco companies closed down. Our government tells you to quit smoking and restricts the use of tobacco, and then turns around and pays farmers to keep producing tobacco, and adds billions of dollars to their tax coffers every year as a result.

And prohibition of any substance has never, throughout history, resulted in that substance disappearing and not being used.
