Does Anyone Still Use Dial Up?

Dail-up??? That is still around???

I will never use the internet if I have to use dail-up!!!! My wife and I had to at the hotel before I left, and it took like an hour to load 1 myspace page and I gave up after that. Only Dail-up like internet I use is the computers at work, and the only reason they are that slow cause the computers are soo old for the programs they have to run. It is not due to the cable/DSL

Yes, cable internet can provide phone service like my dad and mom have one high speed internet. It works.

I hate DIAL UP!! I must have DSL or cable modem which is the best service.. DIAL UP is giving me a grumpy lol.. haha

Yea, It called digital phone that's unlimited and you can call anytime as you want.

Unfortunately, I'm still using dial-up. We don't have DSL available in my area and Time Warner/Road Runner leaves alot to be desired (given my past experiences). So...this is what I'm stuck with until Time Warner/Road Runner improves its service or DSL becomes available. :)

Sucks that my parents are out in the sticks and no cable or dsl is open for them. Well, I'll be glad when I get back home and to my cable service. Odd, I'm on Roadrunner after losing connection to Earthlink. I paid about $400 dollars to figure out why I couldn't connect to Earthlink. Gave up on Earthlink and switched to RoadRunner.

We have acreage over in Washington State and I only go there occasionally, so yes, I do have dialup over there, for my laptop because nothing else is available. It is a "one horse town". I feel very lucky to have it for my laptop, particularly in the wintertime when I am stuck indoors. But for our main home, I have DSL + the video phone.

I use voice modem with a TTY software (myTTY), so no I don't use dial-up modem for Internet.

I cant even remember the last time I had dial up. Maybe 3 years? I have high speed cable Internet from Comcast. It is required for my VP.

Dial up Sucks!!!! I have Time Warner Cable/RoadRunner. I have no problems with Cable Service! I suggest everyone switch to High Speed for own sakes!

Please do not feel inferior because you have a dialup connection! At least you have a connection! DSL, Cable, etc is expensive and many folks cannot afford that. Too many deafies feel that they have to keep up with the Jones's.

Hang in there guys, better days are to come.

I agree. PLUS, you can't assume all "RURAL" cities have high-speed Internet. Some rural cities do, such as Altha, FL, which is west of Tallahassee, FL.

I still have my 386 working and running on PPP. Its got my fave games on it.
