Doctors fight in delivery room, baby dies

IMHO that doctor that complained that the other doctor not on duty should be tried as murder! I do not see point of why stopping somebody from coming in work even though they are not on duty. Lame! Most doctors are paid by salary, whats his excuse?

In reality, it is likely going to be manslaughter not murder. SAD!

Notice it was in a public hospital........See what public healthcare gets ya :ugh2:

This has nothing to do with public or private. Whats point of challenge on a co worker that came to work even they weren't scheduled? This shows LACK of teamwork and IGNORANT!

A doctor should be working with the patient to figure out what's best for her... not with other doctors. That's why I wanted to know if they were arguing over medical opinions IF the gov't feel doctors should have a say so over treatments.

Of course this is just one time thing and have nothing to do with public health..

Well I was making a joke really......but since you asked. One argument against expansion of Public Health care is that the quality of people seeking to become Drs will decline. This incident would seem to support that argument. Quality people rarely "scuffle" over minor issues.

Ok. I'm sure the doctors also had nurses and other medical staff present.

What were they doing to help the baby.

Giving it oxygen? Or was the baby just left to die.
This is the part I do not understand.

I was wondering that myself.....I was assuming they were attempting to break up the fight.....

Then again, being that it was public health maybe there was only one nurse present???? :dunno:

Not enough information to go by.

One thing is clear. The doctors put their ego before the paitent.

Which is clear that they do not need to practice medicine anymore.

No doubt.....well at least for one of them could be one was trying to get free to care for the patient while the other was beating the crap out of him......but if both were fighting they should both be banned for life from medicine...

If you read the article, it stated that one doctor got upset that another doctor showed up even though that doctor don't have to show up. That is the issue they are arguing about. This would be very stupid argument.

"because the other doctor was summoned to deliver the baby for 32-year-old Gislaine de Matos Rodrigues even though he was not scheduled to be on duty. "

Golly. I don't believe this. This has to be f*cked up. They deserved to get fired for this.

They have already been fired.....Hopefully much worse will happen

I have never heard of doctors being in a scuffle or in a fight. This is a first and hope that will not happen again. Tsk, tsk, shame on the doctors. You have to remember we are living in a violent world, I mean all over the world. We will never have peace, ever. Oh, boy. I feel for this young woman who was shock at the doctors fighting and maybe that is why emotional panic might cause her to be upset that make the baby die (not sure if that is true happening). :(

Had this happened in the States, the entire staff present in that room would be held liable for patient neglect. All hospital staff are trained in delivering a baby, there is no excuse why the nurses just didnt shove the doctors out the door and finished the job themselves.

i cant believe this story!! And its crazy!

parents must sued hospital and expect doctors! For dead of their baby

Yep. I believe I said they deserved to get fired over this. I think they should lose their licenses, get hit with malpractice suits and face criminal charges as well.
