In your state of mind, it's difficult to say.

child deaths resulting from firearm.
But can you prove her wrong?
Where did I pull Godwin's Law?
*looking at your form* wow... and you call that MUCH MORE complicated???
that's nothing!!!!
Here - New Jersey State Police - Forms To Download and I also have to fill out more forms from my local police station (forms available only in person). And show up during its scheduled hour for photos, fingerprint, and notarization. and $$$$ fees.
that's not how it works. When someone says my assumption is wrong, one has to prove me wrong. Not other way around.
What I don't get is that you have a medical knowledge and you should know that one treatment is not a cure for all. Every case is different.
so what states?
Deaths cannot be treated. It can be prevented though.

So, let's just throw out penicillin then. Your logic sucks. Rediuction is the goal. Saving one child beats the hell out of saving none or seeing an increase. And certain treatments has been proven to be the most effacious for the majority. That is why medical science has been able to treat so many illnesses that caused death not so long distant.
Of course he can't...which is why he is attempting to turn it around.
It is so simple, isn't it?
Symptom: 50 child deaths by firearm.
Cause: Toddlers playing with guns easily accessible
Treatment: Enact a law requiring a household to have a gun safe

btw - reduction is the goal? so you do support anti-gun laws, I see.

A little too simple for some, I think.
We have a law that requires drivers to have insurance. Does every driver have insurance? No.
We have a law that sets speed limits. Does every driver obey the speed limit? No.
That is the most naive solution I have ever seen. And again, how you gonna enforce it until a kid get ahold of a gun and the investigation shows there is no safe? Or, would you agree to monthly inspections of all gun owners homes to make sure there is a safe present?
No, basically she is saying that education is the key.
I'm having a great difficulty in understanding your position. You're ok with doctors asking them if they have guns and then discussing about gun safety. But you're not ok with mandatory purchase of gun vault?
You do realize that gun vault can prevent children from accessing guns? and that it's a more effective solution than a "talk"?
