Don't most shelters have a privacy fence?
The one I stayed, at for a few days, did on the play ground and the outdoor area.
I am sure the kids will have fun. I remember feeling so guilty when I had to stay at a DV shelter. *sigh*
My kids knew something was wrong. It was not during any holidays. But I can imagine.
So I really look up to you. Making the family and childrens' lives more bearable and enjoyable. For the Easter weekend.
You are a truly wonderful person!
Especially being there for the kids.
Yes, we have an 8 foot privacy fence around the yard, but it is just a small yard, and a lot of it is taken up with swing set and outdoor toys.
Thank you. I just feel that the kids should have as normal a holiday as possible. This is hard on them, because they are not sure of what is happening to them except to know that there has been a big change in their life. Even when they realize that the abuser was putting them and the mom in danger, it is still upsetting for them to leave. The hardest holiday to have kids here is Christmas, but the community is always so supportive. They donate wonderful toys and clothes so the kids will all have presents under the tree. There are a lot of caring thoughtful people out there.
Since I do counseling with the kids, I get to know them on a deeper level, and I'll tell you...some of them are so strong and brave after what they have seen and experienced that it just breaks your heart. They are great kids. Little troopers.
