Discuss about dangerous dogs

I also have noticed from time to time where pet owners would say " my dog would never hurt anyone, they are loving, loyal, friendly, and get along with others"..then later on down the road, some of their dog end up attacking someone or a pet... hmmm

yeah, i already know that. There is no state in the US has been banned yet so only small part of the cities and county.

Not really, it does banned in several cities.

Just like over USA, it does banned in Denver, some part of NYC and other seveal cities but Chicago and NYC (except for Harlem, Queens and Bronx are already banned) are considering to banned in over citywide, also it does banned in several neighborhood in Chicago right now.

It does banned in UK, that's nationwide.

Yeah, I am aware of that, but no state has banned the specific breed yet only a few cities and county.

Yeah, I have seen that many times, and I considered myself above those average pet owners. My dogs have ScHh 1, TDI, TT, and CGC. Do owners have those kinds of titles? Do you know what they are?

ScHH1 title = must score above 70 points for tracking, 80 points for obedience, and 80 points for protection. If one of these area has failed, the dog will not recievfe a title period.

I am glad that you do realize how important to tell your kids not to run up to any dogs. I know that young kids from the age 2 to 6 are not easy to handle. Good lucky trying to keep them away from all dogs. I hope most dogs you will meet are nice ones.

I love dogs and hopefully we will buy a house soon so we can get one. I am just not crazy with the idea of having children around strange dogs especially ones that are on the loose. I am not against dogs but if that woman knew her dog disliked men, then why bring it to a park full of people? I could tell that her dog was gentle with her children but something can go wrong when the dog is approached by a strange man and the dog ends up hurting the chidlren? Never know but why take that risk?

Cane Corso is not being ignorant...she is just pointing out why it's not correct to simply call a dog a dangerous breed, but to understand first why the dog may be perceived as such. It is not necessarily the dog's fault, and a generalization such as calling the dog a dangerous breed is most likely the result of a prejudice against the dog. Avoid prejudices at all cost.

Bringing up that the dog is a dangerous breed without understanding why it behaves as it does, but to simply say it bites and attacks, is to imply that it's the dog's fault to begin with.

In this respect, Cane Corso is only protecting the dog and trying to help you understand it's not the dog's fault and not to mislead other people about this.

Thank you, this is my main goal to get everyone to understand. I know I can't change everyone's opinion, but I feel it was important for people to see this topic in a different light.

Yes, I agree completely. She was not making a very smart choice and she SHOULD not be having that kind of dog. She is putting kids in danger and other people too. :rl:

Does not matter who trains dogs or puppies...When my son was 7 yrs old.. he found sheltie pup half dead and brought her to me...I nursed her back to health..I was going to give her to good home.. but... she follows me around... i did not train her to be housebroken... she did herself... and i did not even train her to help me door knocks... she went to the door barking aloud...
One day my neighbor told me she saw a big bald guy standing in my patio jacking off... then i remembered she was barking like crazy.. i thought it was other dogs outside.. i ignored barks...
One night.. she barked like crazy.... it was dark in the patio.. so i turned on light saw that man running away... he never returned...

So i decided to keep her... very little trainings... but she bit anyone who comes near me .. even bit my kids for waking me up......

so one day we moved to other duplex.... one night it was dark.. my kids were upstairs sleeping.. my best friend and i played Scrabbles.. my dog wont stop barking ...she kept goint to the window and back to the door.....for about 15 minutes.... so i called police... police came.. asked me how did i know if someone is by the window.. i told them my dog told me... so one of police went outside checking ... he found the footprint by the window. in which my dog barked like crazy....

police said wow.. that good dog... asked me if i trained her.. i said no.. i just saved her life......
she was with me for 20 yrs... she passed away...

She was my first dog... I had no experience of training dogs..

So i believe any kinds of dogs do bites no matter if training or no training...

I agree, if she knew her dog wouldn't get along with other men, then she should have thought twice of bring her dog to park where there are going to be other people even children around...she may think nothing will happen but then again you never know....

Don't get me wrong, my parents know about different breed that almost attacked at me, it was from pitbull that my parent saw and found it. It's same picture like that but different color skin, that what I was correct. You don't see me when almost get in attack or whatever because you are from Arizona and I was from other state then you have no predict about me, though.

That's great to hear, Congratulation!! I also heard that dogs and cats can bite if he's/she's sick, I didn't know whether this was true or not until I asked my vet about this, and she told me it was true, wow interesting...

I watched on a TV show last year. The story was a black mailwoman walked on the street to put the letters in their mailboxes. A bitpull dog's collar or rope was loosened, showed up and saw her walking. His/her wagging tail was up in the air and the tail was moving fast which means that he/she is aggressive to attack the mailwoman.

This dog was really nut and doesn't know when he/she opens the jaw to let her go. The dog was very stubborn and insisted to bite her arms several times. Someone called the police, and he was almost attacked and successfully shot the dog three times. I believe that all pitbull dogs are sicko, and even they are friendly that can turn into a bad behavior.

This is not new to me because it is common on the news about pitbull attacks. A few other type of dogs could harm people. The result is that it is very high percent of pitbull dogs that "commit the crime." I think that the pitbulls have some gene defaults.

Congratulations!, My vet also had some test available there, it was required by the city code that all dogs should be tested to passed the city code requirement standard. Only those who have children in the household. My dog passed them all. I was so proud!!

They only hold off the test on how well my dog gets along with other dogs, because during that time he wasn't fixed, after he was fixed six weeks later he took that test and passed.

I wanted to tell you a quick story about a dog and two cats at a nursing home a few months ago. The cats live there, and a woman brought her dog to meet the patients for her job. The cats felt uncomfortable seeing the dog on their territory. They seriously attacked the poor friendly dog. We were so shocked to see that happen. We tried to stop the cats from fighting. The cats did not give it up. Finally, the woman picked up the dog quickly and move it into a patient's room and shut the door. What a strange story! Sorry, I am off the subject. I thought that you might be interested to read this story.

Don't get me wrong, my parents know about different breed that almost attacked at me, it was from pitbull that my parent saw and found it. It's same picture like that but different color skin, that what I was correct. You don't see me when almost get in attack or whatever because you are from Arizona and I was from other state then you have no predict about me, though.

It's same with you too, you did gave us an nasty attitude, such as me, Cheri and other few members then it goes to you too. I was created an thread about dangerous dogs, that what people are concern about breed issues that can be dangerous and just want sharing with their opinion about feeling toward on breeds, if some people said pitbull is dangerous then that's their opinion, none of them are fact or not approve, though.

Now, you just nothing to show an respect to me and Cheri but you are going to be worse than Vodka did but I have nothing to against on other members, such as Vodka but she left this thread due much debate. I'm not going to change my personal or opinion after you requested it, that totally ripped off.
