Digital BTEs

Pepsi,

I received digital bte's in 2005 on the advice from my audiologist to "come into the 21st century technology." So, I did. It did take a few weeks to get used to them, though. Basically, I hate the "in the box" sound, so they've been tweeked a few times.

Thanks Pete,I know what you mean

Even though I wouldn't have been able to see the colors, I wish colored aids had been available when I started wearing hearing aids at age 15. Perhaps then my parents and friends wouldn't have had to nag me all the time to wear them. :giggle:

Did I mention that my bte's match the color of my hair, not the skin tone for caucasians?

My aids are not as good as I had hope.I am still not understanding speech that good and I am still lip reading but that's ok.

I can't wait to get digital HAs next year may 2009.

I want to get black color, it match my natural black hair.

Pepsi,

I don't know what your hearing loss is, but do you plan on trying a different hearing aid brand? I didn't have any luck with digitals either. In my case, they made speech more difficult to understand.

Pepsi,

I ask the same Qs like Hear again.
What's your hearing loss?

My HAs is not perfect. I could hear about 80-90 percent.

I like them

I like my digital aids. However I have never had anything before these to compare them with. I have the zon 7s by starkey new in may 2008. Few tweeks with my audiologist and everything has been just fine. I did have a drop in my hearing so it makes it easy to go in and have him adjust what I need right on the computer, its crazy insane, AND the fact that they talk to me when my battery is low or when I have an appointment is even crazier lol.

Youll get used to them and hopefully youll like them smile

I have moderate to profound in the left ear and moderately severe to profound in the right ear 80/100 db

And I know unfortunately we are both wearing boring beige at the moment.

Next time I will demand green!

She never even ask me about the colors.I think I going to make this my last pair of aids I am fed up with it

Did you know the Oticon Sumo can be programmed as an analog aid? If you don't want the Sumo to select what you hear and don't hear, this particular feature can be turned off.

Yes thats right. That is what I have is an Oticon Sumo DM configured as an analog aid and it is a powerful hearing aid. Digital hearing aid doesn't work for me and I get confuse with all the sounds going all over the place. I was brought up with an analog hearing aid since I was three years old and I am use to the analog aid.
