Did you get your appendix removed or not?

Just wondered if you got your appendix removed or not. Please share your experiences. Don't have to reply if you don't want to share. I still have my appendix, and I feel some few jabs from them, on and off, and it might seem it will be removed sometime soon. I dunno.
 
No I never had them removed. You might want to see dr about it.

I know a few friends of mine had them removed.
 
Yeah, if the jabs happens again, i'll consider the visit to my doctor.
 
Jake .... I think it's normal for teens to experience a few pains here & there but if it's painful, go see a doctor. On the other hand, if you're rolling around on the floor in pain or vomiting .... go to the hospital, pronto!

[Yes, I had pains in my teens but nothing much over the years till I was 38 when I had to have an operation, so asked my surgeon to take my appendix out at the same time with something else I won't name. Feels great not to worry about my appendix bursting in future!] :)

Actually, I am not a teen, I'm an young adult here. FYI.

Yeah, Just jabs here and there, but will keep this in mind, if this happens. Nothing PAINFUL right now. Just got that in my mind, what would happen next?
 
I had mine taken out in 2005. The night before, I went out to eat with friends and was not in the mood to eat, I felt sick. The next morning I had the chills then I got really hot then chills back n forth. The next thing I threw up a million times. I really thought I was dying. I didn't have any pain in my stomach area though. I had a friend to come over and call 911 for me. When I got to the hospital, they ran test and did mri and as soon as they got the result, they rushed me to the O.R. The dr told my husband that I was just in time in the O.R. cuz as soon as he put the needles and cam in, it ruptured.


what you can do is, push your side in (where your appendix is) there will be no pain but when you let go there's pain. if you have that, If I were you, I'd go to the e.r. now.

If you're having pains in the lower stomach, it could be hernia.

My dad and my half brother had the appendix removed so I might probably be next. I will check with the doctor in near future for a medical opinion.

probably runs in the family, huh? I don't know any of my family that had theirs removed. I feel like I'm the first. Yeah best thing to have the dr check ya regularly.
 
my dad and my younger brother had their appendix out my dad was 19 when he had his out and my brother was 18 when he had his out
my brother was oprated by my ex childhood boyfriend's father.

so with my experince seeing my brother in pain he really scare me to death i thought he was dying

Nope.

At my age, it will simply explode leaving me in a puddle of blood... while I die in a painful excruciating death.
 
In 1986, I had my appendix removed after they found out that I have cyst on my right ovary.. the size was like grapefruit... dr said.. cyst grew and caused appendix twisted.. after the surgery.. I felt great..

but funny thing that dr said that I will have hard time getting pregnant.. after I had 3 and 4th on way in close ages and saw him when my sister in hospital for laser surgery (ovarian cancer).. he looked at me, I reconigized you somewhere. I said yes, you took my appendix and cyst.. told me that i will have hard time getting pregnant.. and showed my big bump tummy .. i said.. well this will be my 4th.. and i didnt have problem with getting pregnant.. he just flipped and laughed!.. :)

i had mine removed 18 years ago as a student at Gally.. i was throwin up bad i thought it was from bad beer and bad food i ate eariler.. then later during the nite it became worse and i had to go to GU health clinc and made an appt and they checked and send me to GW Hospital and they said yes... and they checked and quickly put me on sugery table and operated me and said it bursted and had infections etc for a week and i had to withdrew from GU and was brought back to KY and didnt heal till maybe one or one n half month later ..

during pre sugery i cld not use my right leg and everytime go bathroom. cant do that.. then after sugery whoaaa goin bathroom alot...
 
Mine was taken out when I was just few days old. I was told that I was not able to keep anything down. As soon as I ate, I would throw up. Almost died when I was few days old. Doctors found that I had a blocked intestines. When they went in to fix it, he went ahead and took out my appendix while he was there repairing my intestines.

Yes, me too. I still have my appendix but the pain come and go for years. I went doctor for the check time to time when the pain comes. I notice when my mentstrual cycle come then my pain come... My doctor said it's infection and explain that the pain sign would show like what JeepGirl's description then surgery to have it removed. Mine is not yet but just pain on and off, that's all. I know it's sucker... Oh well...

None in my family and no even in family history have it remove except my hubby. He had it removed at age 4.
