Declaration of Occupy Wall Street

For me, the OWS is a sign that people are willing to talk about the problems out in the open and that they're ready to question the status quo. While I have a number of issues that I think needs to be addressed, both corruption of Wall Street and how Corporate personhood is affecting our elections and how we govern needs to addressed first.

These two issues can not be separated from each other. I don't think Obama is going to do much to address the issues considering who gave the money for his campaign for 2012. The Republicans are even less likely to address the issues from what I see here.

However, I think the issues will finally be addressed as a result of OWS.

I also think other issues will prolly be addressed as well as they can not be ingorged any longer.

Right. Any journey requires a first step. The first step has been taken. Forcing discussion of one issue will inevitably lead to discussion of other issues. That is a positive point of the protests.

Deaf man raped at OWS

Looks like OWS has class structure now too

Wonderful comments under this video!

My question is; Are some Conservatives secretly enjoying the rape of this man?

Just checked the comments. No wonder you're asking this question.

No, conservatives have made no hidden, or even slightest secret whisper, about condoning this movements actions.

Perhaps the non-conservatives need to pack away their blame throwers before they implode.

OWS protestors read those comments and feel fired up for another month of camping down there. Some of the comments have blatantly racist overtones, similar to the "haftin to be uproared" thing.

I rarely read comments because....it's the internet. I went back because of your post. Of the comments currently on there (obviously they may increase) I see nothing but disgust for the rape. Some of those are expressed with sarcasm but still.

I find your post more disturbing than the comments personally.

Oh well, you are entitled to your opinions. But neither the comments nor your post change the fact that a deaf man was raped and that the camp is dividing.

Right. Get out from under that rock. If you read the comments below the video, you gotta be out of your mind to think the way you do. Sounds to me like there are some that are thrilled.

There are times when I wonder if the far right are escapees from the Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. :P

The divide between sides is a bit more hate-filled than you let on to believe. Why would a semi-retired man find the need to submit several of these videos if he was not driven by dislike of the people camping?

Lol, what a joke. All those comments are trying to blame the rape on liberalism itself. They're not aimed at the rape or rapist. It's all aimed at liberals and liberalism.

Anyway, I'm starting to think they need a new approach in NYC. It's obviously being taken over by scumbags and riff raff that really have no political ideology. Overall, however, the Occupy movement is still strong and headed in the right direction. No matter how much right wing character assassination attempts are made, the fact remains that the majority of Americans support the principles of this movement. We'll see what happens in the weeks to come. . . .

Oh. kind of like the OWS supporters submitting videos of the police using tear gas?

Police DID use tear gas. You supported this, along with clubbing and other techniques to subdue those "haftin to be uproared" Liberal tree huggers.

I think the Democrats should just fold their tents and let the Conservatives rule with an iron fist.

In addition, almost all I have seen offered by Conservatives in this thread, and almost anything Obama, is finger pointing and blame. I am a middle of the road voter, but compared to you and TxGolfer, I look like Abby Hoffman. If you don't know who he is, feel free to investigate. Start with the Chicago Seven trial...

Hence why I don't think the conservatives are going to lead us out of this mess.

It looks like they are. Using it as fodder for their propoganda. "We are so glad this happened! Look how bad we can try to make those liberals look now!" Sad.
