If the police did anything wrong I am sure they will be held accountable.

Not like someone like this would provoke or anything....

Benedict Arnold: Marine Injured At #OccupyOakland Is Leftist Anti-War Activist And Founder Of IHatetheMarineCorps.com at Pat Dollard

This is false information, as shown here: The Right Launches A Smear Campaign Against Occupy Oakland's Scott Olsen

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for posting this crap. Simply ashamed.

You are unbelievable. Always looking for a way to blame the victim. Can't even be confirmed that this is the same Scot Olsen. And how about finding a credible source? Nothing more than hateful propoganda.

So what if he is an Iraq vet opposed to the war? There are many of them. Just as there are thousands of VietNam Vets that protested that war after returning home. After all, they had a first hand perspective of what was happening. After serving 2 tours I'd say his perspective is a hell of a lot more informed and justified than yours is.

It's confirmed

Waiting on confirmation for other stuff though

Namely a photo from an hour before, a video from minutes after and the relationship between Scott Olsen and Hospital Spokesperson Curt Olsen. Those are unconfirmed so I haven't posted them

No need to get personal. It's about the story as far as I am concerned. And the facts. And the fact is he broke the law by not obeying the police. It's that simple.

It's confirmed that it wasn't him. You obviously have no shame, and find it perfectly acceptable to get your jollies out of tragedy. Seriously, you are way over the line.

The police broke the law. They were ordered to act only when it was completely safe for the protesters and in a manner that would show due caution.

What, more scumbaggery from you?

It's really time for you to leave this thread. It's quite clear from what you post that you hate the values on which America was founded. It's also clear that you have no respect for our military.

Wrong, I love our military, our LEOs and people who respect and obey the law.

I'm appalled anyone would stoop to this.

Maybe it's blog vs blog. We will see. Fact remains he broke the law.

OMG! He stayed where he was standing with his hands folded peacefully in front of him! They should have killed him. What was he thinking by exercising his right to peaceful protest?

**sarcasm, for those of you that are unable to recognize it**

It's hard to be supportive of cops when you're on the receiving end of a speeding ticket. :giggle:

It's also completely false to claim you love people who obey the law when you no doubt break it yourself daily. I can't stand hypocrisy and unrighteous indignation.

True.

They were asked then warned.....

They were warned that they would be bashed in the head with a tear gas canister and receive a traumatic brain injury? They were warned that when they tried to help a fellow protester who had been gravely injured, they would be fired on again with tear gas and flash bombs?

Get real.

The police ouldn't even be bothered to get a medic and an ambulance in there to take care of the injury they inflicted.

Olsen was dropped off at the hospital by people in a private car and was unconscious for 12 hours, Harken said. He is unaware of the global interest in his condition.

"He wouldn't be able to comprehend it," the doctor said.

I find this appalling considering the nature of his injuries.

No kidding. Not only did they fire again into the people who were trying to assist him after he was on the ground and bleeding profusely, they did not even bother to get anyone else in there to assist him. Had it not been for the bystanders coming to his assistance, it appears they would have left him there to bleed to death.

BTW, if you watch the footage, nothing was being thrown at the officers, despite a couple of claims made here, prior to his being hit and injured. The protesters only retaliated after he was injured.
