They are considered to be threats. One cannot tell whether a person is serious or not, especially when he said he would murder her if somebody else doesn't. It's better to investigate than to ignore. Free speech has its limitations, even on Facebook.

Wow, you better look for the investigators to be beating down your door, then.:giggle:

Where exactly did that article say that man was an OWSer? For all you know, he's a card carrying NRA republican.

Now, Alex, you know that isn't possible! You're just being silly. This guy is obviously disturbed, and you know that no conservative has ever, ever been disturbed.:cool2:

I didn't say anything him being an OWSer. Nor did the article. But the reaction was related to a recent arrests of OWSers where one guy took it a bit too far in FB.

Then why bother posting it in the OWS thread?

Eh? My grandaddy always mumbled that the Kaiser took his string.

Okay, then . . .

THIS.

Grasping for straws I see. :hmm:

Pretty simple, people have been and are responding about the OWS movement and the results of it (e.g. police, grievances, protests, etc). No different here pointing out how one guy went too far in making an online threat on FB.

:dunno:

Yep. Grasping for straws.

People should have pity on this poor disturbed adolescent, instead of exploiting her difficulties as a way to attempt to discredit OWS.

Yet you were more than willing to exploit her before this came out. What you see here is not exploitation, but, rebuttal and it is typical of the many false claims OWSers have made against police.

And exactly how, dear sir, did I exploit this woman?

No, it is exploitation. Calling a pig a horse does not make it so.:cool2:

If you asked I didn't see it.

The answer, I finally saw what the membership was for..... I PMed some members asking about this membership before it was ever discussed in this thread. They are welcome to verify this if they wish.

Yes, you did PM me, and I explained it. When Alex pumped up our VIP bars to shiny orange, you noticed. Glad to be of assistance, and even more glad you donated!

It's a good thing we don't get pepper-sprayed here for voicing our opinions.

OCCUPY ALLDEAF!
And sorry I've been quiet but sadly I've been netless :( Hannah did get arrested and Mama Nan is very proud of that.....but you know what? It was a freaking disorderly conduct charge! That is NOTHING!!! There's also some evidence that when my Hannah was arrested (this time) that someone made an off-hand remark to her about being the notorious Hannah _____ (for privacy's sake I don't want to give her last name) ...so she may have been on the NYPD's shit list and then targeted.

Occupy Wall Street is just like left wing of Tea Party.

No it's not. It certainly is a leftist response to the status quo, but it does not replicate the Tea Party. We haven't made any motions to enter the political process, we haven't taken any political platform nor proposed solutions to the problems. The people in OWS are general Liberals, Socialists, Trotskyists Anarchists and Libertarians. At first the Tea Party claimed to be independent of the Republican Party, but we know how that went, and they later were bought out by Karl Rove, Koch Brothers and other conservative pundits.

It is good to have someone who is actually participating in the protests weigh in here at AD.

As I understand it, this stage of the protests are dedicated to awareness. Despite the claims of "disorganization" the movement is most definately meeting that goal. Issues are being talked about with increasing frequency and intensity. Deeper level awareness, rather than superficial acceptance, has to be accomplished before any solutions could be formulated. Problems must be defined in their entirety before solutions can even be approached.

To affiliate the movement with a particular party or political platform would only serve to dilute the message of OWS and polarize supporters. At this time, many more supporters are out there than are protesters, for many reasons. I am grateful to those that are doing what I, at this time, cannot do; which is to physically be present at the protests.
