Decisions, decisions - What to do??

Bucket - I'm very happy that you're back!!!

yes I understand the rigor of academic journey and it's a serious business. being a part-time student is the best way to start it off especially for those who hasn't been to college for a while.

good luck on your difficult journey! :grouphug:

I have to agree with Jiro. There's no way I could handle a full-time course schedule right now given my other responsibilities at home and at work, but if nothing else just taking one or two courses a semester is better than not taking any, and maybe you'll find yourself doing better being able to focus on just a couple of courses at a time. And that's completely fine.

My hat is off to you because dispite your low-vision, you went ahead and did it anyway and didn't give a damn what other people thought. You wanted to accomplish your dream and you did it.

Maybe crossing the finish line isn't what it's about, maybe it's about the journey you took and the experiences you had during that journey.

Oh Dixie, thank you so much!

You need to update your blog, sweets! Yes, I do read your blog!

Hi Mrs. Bucket

Care to explain what "social dynamics" means ? Forgive me, if I don't know what that means.

By the way, in case if you didn't know -- I have my own Facebook as well. :)
And, about that college you went.... you go, girl! Just follow your heart what's the best for the D/deaf community.

Hi Maria! Long time no chat, seriously!! It has been toooo long since we chatted and I mean.. chit-chat.

Social dynamics, even I didn't know this word, until I went to college and now I am so glad for the personal experience as well as the emotional growth from college. You see, I grew up a lot in my three months at college. I had to swallow my pride. My Deaf professors would tell me to please leave my 6th generations Deaf Culture outside of the classroom because it actually intimidated my other Deaf classmates.

Some of my classmates are hearing and they have Deaf parents as well. Some do not have any Deaf family members. I am the only Culturally Deaf student from a Culturally Deaf background family. This is where social dynamics comes in.

Social dynamics is the study of the ability of a society to react to inner and outer changes and deal with its regulation mechanisms. Wiki

Remember I mentioned how my Deaf professors asked me to leave my background outside of the classroom because it was affecting my peers?

This is social dynamics.

Outer changes - Patty's strong Deaf-Centric background
Inner changes - Students' vulnerability to Deaf-Centric experiences

As an individual, I can damage my classmates' EQ. EQ is emotional growth based on my own experiences.

To have both IQ (intelligence) and EQ (emotional growth) is what our professors aim for all of us to have instilled when we graduate so we can be either one of the three - consultants, advocates or teachers.

Hope this helps.

Oh yes, please do add me to your Facebook - click here.

well-said on that bold red print. "I did it! Have you?" Leave no regret! :)

Yewp. Rocky just wanted to go the distance.

Lot to be said for that.
