I believe you did! But will be returning to school after the break.

Hello Mrs. Bucket. Merry Christmas. :)

By the way, our cat died , that is our new rescue Joey in my lap. He is a Pekingese. (as close to a Boston as you can get and still have hair.)

I feel that part time studies are the perfect balance of school, work, mr hubby, furkids and yourself. I always think that part time studies work wonderfully on anyone included me.

Enjoy your break!! :D

Hey Mrs B.. welcome back and ahh ya have a lot of decisions to do with your studying and more.. I am currently working parttime and trying to land a good fulltime job so I can move somewhere and be free of some issues going on at my 3rd brother's place (mainly the issues with his wife which is pretty petty and sometimes downright bad enough) so I am working on another place to move to and also thinking about going to college (this aint a joke, am seriously thinking about it so I have to decide on it slow and easy) so it will be something for me for a while to work on for the next several months to come... glad to see ya back in here and hope we can see ya around more..

Gee, didn't I write that?!

 Buckets!!

Merry Christmas to you too, hope all goes well whatever the path leds you.

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been here. A whole semester has gone by. Three months to be exact. I love the program at George Brown College so much.

ALIP - American Sign Language Literacy Instructor Program, this program empowers me so much as I learn a lot about my own community and the Deaf Culture. The Deaf Community - everything about the community and the social dynamics of the Deaf Culture.

This program is the only program offered internationally as it has three courses offered in one same program. I am very proud to be a part of this program.

This makes my decision so hard as I am struggling with this personal decision to leave the program. You see, I am the only DeafBlind student in a class of 15+ Deaf/hearing sighted people.

I had to lobby over 6+ weeks to get a Deaf Interpreter (DI) at an academic setting and finally, I got the DIs. Two of them and they have been such a blessing. I am able to receive everything visually as ASL is a visual and gestural language.

I must admit I am emotional about my decision to leave the program because I waited such a long time to go to college and PAH! - this program was the perfect one for me to enrol into. My program director encourages me to do part-time studies and I would love to do it. I want to take a semester off to focus on my inner wellness.

You know the quote "Health is Wealth." - that is very important to me. A semester off to gather my thoughts, take care of myself emotionally, psychologically, physically and especially my one good eye.

I don't know why I need the validation, I suspect it is flawed logic. See this, "flawed logic", I learned this during the program. I even learned that I have to stop apologising as it is all part of systematic apologising that we all need to break free from.

Interesting eh? Oh this program makes my decision so hard because it's quite empowering, you see.

There I go again, validation and the flawed logic in this.

It's good to see you all and a very Merry Christmas to each one of you.

Big hugs!

Dear Mrs. Bucket,
I am new to AD but I can relate on some levels. I am about to finish my AA in Early Childhood Ed. And after that I am going to continue on to get my AS in ASL Interpreting. I am currently 36yrs old and can understand the roadblocks we can give ourselves. I have my ex husband telling me that I won't finish or I will never get a job in my field. This only makes me want to work harder to prove to him that I will make it. Hells, sometimes I keep persisting just to shove it in his face. LOL
But what I am trying to tell you is that we are given challenges & difficulties to make as stronger in our abilities. Keep working at it and you will make it through!
Good Luck!

Welcome back Mrs. Bucket, do pace yourself to prevent from being overwhelmed. I know schooling is stressful and much hours of work put into it.

It appears you are passionate about the program and ready to make a difference. I know you can do it! Best wishes on your endeavor.

Welcome back! The members thought you're retired to AD. But you came back anyway. I want to tell you. Best of wish good luck for you! Don't be overwhelm. You can do your best! Merry Christmas!!!

P.S. Do you have facebook? Please PM me. I would love to see your jewelry pictures.

 and welcome back. You have been sorely missed. It is good to know that you found a workable solution for the class that you enjoy so much. Take care of yourself, and looking forward to more posts.

I am so thrilled to see you back but I hope you will be happy here since you have gone through so much recently. Hugs!

At least you got to go to college, and find what is your limit.

Part-time is better than quitting because it signifies that you'll complete the course even though, it'll take longer to finish. Just do your best. :)

Merry Christmas

I just want to let you know that you have been thought of by us very much. I am proud that you have tried so much to achieve your courses. Part time is good. Just don't overwork too hard. Also take care of yourself.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I am looking forward to your posts here. We (ADers) will be looking out for you. With the best of luck. ;)

Welcome back! that is great news that you can study part time. I do wish you good luck and do remember balance is a key. :)

I know being full time and part time student is tough. As I am currently studying part time.

SG, thank you for your support and yes I must agree with you. Part time studies is the only way for me now. It is healthier alternative for me.

:)zzz: while being half asleep @ 3.30am - did I read correctly, Buckets back?)

You bet I'm back!! Remember you and Jiro still owe me the beautiful opportunity to be my guide!! :naughty: *rubbing hands!* Oh la la, two handsome lads on each side! To be the envy of sighted people, bwahahaha!! :laugh2:

I believe you did! But will be returning to school after the break.

 I am so sorry for your loss. I can understand your pain. Fur or skin, a child is a child. My heart still aches for my Ashy. I think your Joey is too sweet!! I love you Botts and I missed you.

FF, you have no idea how much your support in FB was so helpful for me. I love you.

Hugs Roman, I am glad to hear you have a job!! Nonetheless parttime or fulltime, it is a job! Keep your head high and focus on yourself, ignore those around you that feel the need to pull you down with their trivial issues. Thank you Roman for your support. You've been a great friend of mine. HUGS!

Hi Juli, yesterday I gave a 2 hour presentation to 3rd year interpreting students about DeafBlind Interpreting and I was taken aback by their candid honesty as well as their eagerness towards learning about other cultures. I will tell you this like I told the 3rd year students "I truly appreciate interpreters because they bridge the gap between the communities - hearing and Deaf." Thank you Juli for bridging the gap.

OB7, this program is fascinating and I just love the professors as well as the peers. They all are amazing individuals. We all are able to debate Deafhood, audism and controversial topics that we here at AllDeaf have the same topics locked down quickly!! Quite a different concept.

Welcome back, Mrs. Bucket!!! :)
HUGS!

I missed everyone here and just glad to have understanding professors!

Oh Shel! Your support is very much appreciated!! You and FF... you both chicas rock!!

Miss D, that's what I always wanted to do... my best in the best way I could possibly do. Smile!

Bebonang, your words just left quite an impact on me and for this I humbly thank you. Thank you so much. :ily:

When I first started on the road of getting myself classes I volunteered with the Helen Keller Services for the DeafBlind. I found out very quickly just how difficult it is for the people you are trying to help. I also grew up around a person who is legally blind, my father, he has Albinism.

I will do my best to bridge the gap. Thank you for the support.

Don't have too many irons in the fire, sweetie. I know the feeling. I have a deafblind next door neighbor, and there is no logic in feeling guilty about being away so long. Good to see you again!
