Deaf Party !!

I have also grilled oranges and grapefruit. I also do skewers with pineapple, strawberries, cantelope and honeydew.

do you use olive oil with it?

Okay - Sunday dinner!!! Got the grills heating up. There will be steaks, BBQ'd chicken, bratwurst, pork and beef ribs, as well as baked potatoes. Also, fire roasted corn on the cob and I will be grilling peaches and nectarines to go with the Ice cream. On the back large grill, we have the baked beans and green beans heating up, and on the Weber grill over here is the cornbread cooking. Hope it all meets with approval.

OMG! That's a great Sunday grill! :drool:

Boy, the grilled fruit sounds absolutely heavenly. I don't think I have ever, ever tasted that anywhere. It's on my next to-do list !!! Thanks, Kristina, for sharing that. :)

I just remembered that my grandma used to make the most awful homemade wine in her spare bedroom. I haven't thought about that in ages. I miss the crazy old lady. :P

My stepmother's grandmother raised canaries in the dining room..

Apparently it was a successful business. :hmm:

:wave: everyone I'm just in time for the pinata!

about the chewy puppy.....for the first couple of years my puppies/young dogs are crated quite a lot - not for looooong drawn-out stretches but in frequent bursts so they learn that 1: crate is a neutral or ideally good thing;

2: learn to relax and self-entertain with a chewie;

3: that I control what they have access to;

4: as an attempt to prevent or reduce inappropriate behaviors from happening because the more those behaviors happen, the more they WILL happen in the absence of any other direction.

My young dogs or puppies also don't have un-restricted access to the whole house and are not left with food down all the time - two generally common things new puppy or dog people actually do.
I control the resources - resources are anything the dog finds valuable - food, toys, petting, sleeping positions, access to areas, going outside etc.

crates in themselves for MOST dogs <this does not include dogs from mills and dogs with true separation anxiety> may be initially meaningless, intriguing or weird but the way we introduce -most- dogs to them and teach them about the crate, is what either leads to a calm or happy dog in a crate vs. a nervous, anxious unhappy dog in a crate. Crates in themselves are not punishing or "bad" but if used for punishment and in a angry manner, then they will be associated with that unpleasant-ness and will become a "not good thing".

Oh man!! I missed the pinata!! Ah well - I was watching a movie with my mother.
