Court of public opinion looms large in George Zimmerman murder trial

Sure, why not, if the State has provisions for it. After all, he was adjudged innocent, was he not? Especially look at the fact the DA knew they did not have a case....so they just played the political game. Therefore, they ought to be held accountable for what amounts to frivolty.
 
Hopefully Zimmerman will get even more from the state. He was the victim of Corey's political game.
 
We'll see if he'd ever see a dime from Florida.

The jury says he is not guilty. The prosecution had ZERO evidence. They only reason they tried him for Murder 2 is politics which is a violation of his rights. They took a year of his life away for a trumped up charge filed to appease Al Sharpton and other crazy people. He deserves to be compensated for that.
 
Everyone will always have their own opinion on what happened in this instance between Zimmerman and Martin... period. Honestly though, nobody REALLY knows 110% what happened except Zimmerman and Martin. Jury's are here to find guilty or innocent. Once you're proven innocent you're innocent. You can not be re-tried ( double jeopardy ) and that's it, a panel full of people found there wasn't enough evidence to find him guilty, and I agree. You can not say 110% you KNOW he was in the wrong, you have to look at the evidence and keep your personal opinion out of it... which is what the jury did... If he was found innocent, he shouldn't be charged for court costs. Just like if I'm in a car accident because someone drunk hit me and I sue them, do you think I should pay court costs because I sued them for being drunk and hitting me? No, I was innocent... that's all. He was found innocent, and he shouldn't have to pay. Some people just can't seem to put their personal beliefs aside and look at the evidence.

Florida knew that had beans on this case and they went with it anyway because everyone flinging the racist card around if they didn't. Period. If Florida wouldn't have tried to convict him, there would have been endless threats, calls and people screaming about the fact that because it was an african American, they left it alone but if it was a White kid they would have been all over it. So even though they had like zero HARD PROOF evidence, they really had no choice because the community would have been up in a ROAR more so than they are with him being found innocent. So, because they wanted to do this with no evidence, and they wanted to push the issue where they knew they had no proof... again, he shouldn't have to pay. he wasn't found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. You have to find someone guilty without ANY doubt in your head. And nobody can say again 110% what happened... that's only known between those two, and one is no longer here.

OMG Thank you for saying that... I just get SO aggravated over this... People still bringing up how he should have been guilty... he was found innocent... let it go it's OVER! :shock:
 
George Zimmerman to ask Florida for $200,000 - CNN.com
(CNN) -- Lawyers for George Zimmerman, the Florida man who was acquitted of second-degree murder in the killing of Trayvon Martin, plan to ask the state to reimburse Zimmerman for at least $200,000 of expenses incurred during his trial.

Under Florida law, an acquitted defendant cannot be held liable for court costs or any charges while detained in custody, as long as a clerk or judge consents to the refund.

The costs may include money spent for expert witnesses, travel expenses and fees for transcripts.

"We're probably going to ask for somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000," lead attorney Mark O'Mara said.

But, O'Mara said, the chances are slim they'll receive anywhere near that sum.

"We're not going to get it. The case law here is quite limited. Even though we're going to ask for it, the amount that we'd most likely get is significantly less."

I wonder if Zimmerman is somehow "testing the water" firset to see how it goes in getting money from the state...and then file a lawsuit?

We only heard one side of what happen that tragic night , so we'll never really knew what happen and Zimmerman made damn sure that would Martin would not talk ! Do you really think I give a shit that Zimmerman lost one lousy year of his life when Martin lost this whole life? Martin would still be alive if Zimmerman had let the cops do their job instead trying act like a cop.
I could give a rat ass about Zimmerman and did you heard his wife trouble for lying about how money they had. If his wife is a liar he sure has to be one too!
