Court of public opinion looms large in George Zimmerman murder trial

That's not true, professionals are free to make an opinion.

Freedom of speech.

well sure they can but they will risk being fined/suspended/expelled by NBA Commissioner.

 Remember the guy who videotaped Chick a fila employee at the window, he was fired, even though it was his freedom of speech.

Know what? So far two of those players already apologized. Why? Because they know that they are not supposed to say those kind of things when they are professionals. Re-read the article.

They just apologized for outrage comment but it didn't change their opinion to disprove GZ as not guilty.

Big trouble? I think you are too overreaction. :aw:

You just wait and see. Those who haven't apologized, they are in a big trouble. Wanna bet?

I think that people should be able to express outrage as long as it is peaceful.

There are a lot of people who are emotionally attached to this case. If I believed that Trayvon Martin was an innocent child that was murdered in cold blood by a psycho white dude that hates black people, my blood would be on full boil too.

The facts of the case show that George Zimmerman acted in self defense. The facts that were suppressed by the prosecution show that Trayvon Martin liked to pick fights. He was staying with his father because he was expelled from the school he attended while living with his mother. He had been suspended three times from that school. He had also punched his school bus driver, which shows he lacked any respect for authority.

You are the person you are right now as a direct culmination of choices you have made over the course of your life. Trayvon made bad choices. He was not an innocent child.

Do I think he "deserved" to die? No, of course not. Do I think someone who is being beaten up and having their head slammed into a sidewalk should not defend themselves? No, of course not.

I am not on George Zimmerman's side. I am not on Trayvon Martin's side either. Yes, it is possible that the whole incident could have been avoided if GZ remained in his car. Yes, the whole incident could have been avoided if TM had not violently approached GZ. You can paint as many 'what if" scenarios as you want regarding this verdict, but in accordance to the law, the facts of the case are the only thing that matters.

George Zimmerman did not violate any laws. He was fully cooperative with the police when they investigated (which I think helped his case in the long run).

It is illegal to assault anyone, which 6 of the 8 eyewitnesses that testified claimed Trayvon was the one who instigated the physical confrontation. George Zimmerman did not testify.

I agree with the verdict and I am sorry for Trayvon Martin's family. The threats being made towards George Zimmerman shows just how much further our society has left to go.

Cubs closely monitoring player tweets

And another. Perhaps you don't follow sports closely. Players represent their teams 24/7/365. When they say something the team feels is detrimental to the team they can release them, suspend them and/or fine them. This is common knowledge for sports fans.

What guess? I don't care. :dunno:

I respect player's opinion.
