The guy wanted me to sign for the package so he would not have to come back , that was not my problem . I had no idea if it was breakable or not and my dog could had knock it over.

I agree with you. It's not your responsibility. A few neighbors are friendly to accept the responsibility which is their choice.

However, things change now. The deliverers just drop the parcels off without signatures.
