I would not dare to leave any packages in washington DC Northeast. There are too many people walking/passing by.

Its not u, its delivery people that dont care! They dont care if they leave valuable package at doorstep, cause they usually wont get blamed at.
I lived there before. I would have ordered something with signature requires or something like that.
If they dont do that then give them the address where it goes to and i pick the package up. simple as that.
Or have it delivered to where you work , and something people will send out gifts through UPS or FedEx and you'll not know about it. I think it would be a good idea to let the person know they'll be getting a package so they can have some be home to sign for it.
that is what i mean. any where you want your package to deliver to.

Movers don't care either. We had a box with our dinner plates, clearly marked "fragile" and dumb jerk just slammed it down and gave off a big laugh like he accomplished something profound...I wanted to kick him to the curb. When are moving companies going to start hiring people with an IQ?

I remember like 3-4 years ago, it used to be a signature required so it was a proof that it was received but no more. I guess those companies, UPS, FedEx and USPS don't want to waste time waiting for people to answer the doorbell. Its not u, its delivery people that dont care! My son ordered the new smartphone via Amazon but it never showed up, even though UPS tracking number showed that it was delivered. He contacted Amazon and let them know about it and he received another one next day. WOW! That means you can lie that you haven't received an item and you will get another one. If I own a company like Amazon, I would require all deliverers to get customer signatures to prevent rip-offs.
I am sure Amazon saw this video and they would say "uh-oh, we don't want the parcels left unprotected like that".
I just asked my son if the phone he ordered was stolen by someone like a lawnmower, it can't be tracked at all.I am guessing that if someone does this, that phone would be put on a list to be tracked/monitored.....

Yeah, you are not required to do that for your neighbor. Can you imagine if your neighbor ordered a lot of stuffs every week or so and have you sign it for them? No way!An UPS guy once ring my doorbell to have me sign for a neighbor package
but I refuse to , I did not want to blame for it being damage in my care.

No, my son said that Amazon or other retailer has nothing to do with service providers so they can't detect it as long as it doesn't include services. For example, [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Moto-2nd-generation-Unlocked/dp/B00MWI4HW0/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1418496895&sr=8-16&keywords=smartphone[/ame], then you choose a service you want to hook up with it so how would Amazon know about it?I would think if the phone is activated and "on air", it would be detected.....
